Crafty Catz - One for the boys

Hi everyone! this one's for the boys...... well specifically my cousin but it'll do for Crafty Catz challenge this week too, which is one for the boys!
The stamp is one that came free with a magazine and I can see getting some serious usage. the layout is one I created and i've been using over recently (remember the valentines card with Edwin?) Image is coloured with promarkers, papers are from a K&Co pad and that's about it. Really simple but I think it works. I hope you agree!

Take care and Happy Crafting x

Creative Inspirations - Plain and Simple

Hey everyone. I hope you're all well, it's been a long week hasn't it? or is it just me that feels like that? anyway, todays card is for Creative Inspirations challenge of Plain and Simple. I used my new butterfly stamp again to create my mum's birthday card
The image is stamped with stazon black ink and then coloured with my watercolour pencils. The die cut is nellie snellen edged with stickles and the paper is from stock, a freebie pad that came with one of the many card magazine's I buy. The sentiment is printed off on the computer and the gems are from stash.

That's it! thanks for looking and happy crafting x

Just because....

Hi guys,

This one's a just because. I brought this stamp just after Christmas as a treat to myself and I wanted to play. It's not a great card but it was more experimenting with the image, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Hope you like it, the stamp is coloured with pro-markers, shape is a die from Nellie Snellen and paper is from stash. Think that's about it.

Thanks for looking and happy crafting x

41 days into 2011 and what feels like 41 problems

Hi Everyone, sorry i've got nothing fun to share with you today but I needed a moan. So 2011, we're 41 days into the new year and i've had what feels like 41 different issues, problems or pieces of bad news.

To start the year I find out my uncle has been diognosed with Bone Cancer, shortly followed up with a dear friends Gran passing away from her long term battle with cancer.

We follow this up with the announcement that English Heritage are going to have to find 75 more job cuts at the same time that my boss is desperately trying to find a way to give me a permenant contract. And of course the 30+ rejection letters.

Adding stress to an already bad start to the year, my brother was involved in a multicar pileup on the motorway (thankfully, other than some bruising he is fine)

Then I start getting water into flat through my kitchen ceiling - plumber comes out and thinks he fixed the issue - next thing I know its back and spread! infact its so bad its coming down in damp patches through my walls now and there's nothing I can do except run up the electricity bill and play host to this:
Oh yes, an industrial dehumidifier - and I have no idea how long for as the entire flat above me is saturated in water and some bright spark decided instead of leaving air gaps between the floors, to fill the whole lot in with concrete!

Water damage in my flat
And then, to top it all off, my mum phoned to tell me the company they had hired to change the boiler and overhaul their heating has gone into liquidation. Thus causing them to loose thousands of pounds!

Oh yes, 2011 is a great year.

Not

Rant over xx

Friday Sketchers Challenge Card

Hi Everyone! How was your weekend? hope you enjoy it and stayed out of any bad weather! This card is for Friday Sketcher's Challenge #140
It's a great sketch. I've altered it slightly as the image I wanted to use didn't work in the horizontal rectangle..... anyway, you'll see what I mean!
Sooo as you can see, minor amendment to the sketch, but excusable I think (I hope!). The image is, clearly, magnolia - I love this stamp and I love colouring her in as it's an excuse to use bright colours, which cheers me up no end, especially with the wind howling outside. The circle is embossed using cuttlebugs Spots & Dots folder. The papers are from stash - I wish I could remember the name of the pad they came from - the buttons, ribbon and gems are all from stash.

I hope you like it, I really enjoyed making this card. Thanks for looking and happy crafting! x

Crafty Catz - Tartan/Plaid

I'm back! did you miss me? lol!

This is a entry for Crafty Catz Challenge of Tartan/Plaid. Which was great as I've been trying to use up scraps and images that i've allready printed/stamped/coloured in, sooooo:
The image is one of my favourites from Just Inklined which has been coloured using promarkers and decoupaged. It is mounted on a die cut which I was kindly given (I'd take a wild guess that its a nesstie die). The paper is a 12x12 sheet i've had for a while and won in a candy so i'm not too sure who it's by. I went round the edge with dark green ink to try and make it stand out slightly and used some scrap ribbon to add interest.

That's everything! thanks for looking and happy crafting x

Creative Inspiration Challenge Card

Hi Guys!

Are you watching the 6 Nations?! what a start last night! and Italy v Ireland was gripping - shame Italy didn't win, they were the better team I thought today. Oh well, onto France v Scotland - and France are showing why they were champions last year; a tri in under 4 minutes! wow!

Oh well, even with all this fun going on (and I do love some quality rugby) I have actually been busy making cards. This one is for Creative Inspiration's Challenge this week, which is this beautiful sketch:
It was only after I finished that I remembered it was meant to be a sentiment in the bottom right corner - so forgive me for that small error!
The images is a Belles 'n' Whistles stamp called Tania Cooking which I've had for a while but seem to have neglected, I coloured her in using promarkers. The papers are K&Co and a freebie from a magazine. The die cut is one I was kindly sent, embossed using the cuttlebug Script folder. Flowers, buttons and gems are all from general stock.

Think that's just about it. I hope you like it - comments welcomed. I'll be back soon with another challenge card.

Take care and happy crafting! x

Crafty Catz and Crafty Cardmakers

Post number 2 - wow! shocking I know, but there we are. Second post and its a double challenge card for Crafty Catz' Flower challenge and Crafty Cardmakers Spotlight Challenge on Water

This beautiful Orchid image is from Just Ink-lined and was coloured using my watercolour pencils and then decoupaged to give the card some depth. I kept the layout really simple as I didn't want to distract from the image. The papers are K&Co, ribbon and gems are from stash.

Thanks for looking! Hope you like it and Happy Crafting x

All you need is love!

Welcome back!

So here's on to the next of my cards this week - much happier with this design which I am entering for Just Magnolia and Hangler's challenge of Going Dotty and Creative Inspirations theme of Valentines/Love.
The image is (obviously) Magnolia, coloured with watercolour pencils. The papers are all K&Co.

Very simple and I hope you agree, very effective! I would love to hear your thoughts
