Graduation

Good Morning one and all,

Just a flying visit to share a CAS card with you. A dear friend of mine is graduating today and I made her a congratulations card a few months ago when her results came through so I wanted to make something that simply said it all and was to the point for today - and this is the result:
Everything is from stash and I kept the colours generic as I wasn't sure what colour her hood was going to be.

Thanks for popping by and until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT Card - Halloween

Good Morning Everyone!

Gosh is it Friday again!?! Where does the week go? Well if it's friday, then it must be time for the new Crafty Catz challenge. This week's theme was set by the lovely Dianne, who set theme of Halloween. We are sponsored this week by Crimson Cloud, who are offering one lucky winner a pack of 3 Die Cuts.

Now I'm not one to celebrate this particular holiday but there's one or two work colleagues who I think will appreciate a card and some chocolatey goodness to see them through this day, so this is what I've created this week:
The image is by Dustin Pike is one I've had for a while. I coloured it with the following promarkers: cinnamon, caramel, spice, honeycomb, buttercup, mustard, dusky pink, cool grey 3, moss, pear green, cool aqua, sky blue.

I mounted it on foam pads over a dark green circle that I had in stash and then onto eyeball papers from Scrapbooks gone digital which you can find here. I double mounted it onto black card and finished with some googley eyes.
The treat holder is an idea from Crafty Blogocks which you can find here. I altered the pattern slightly as I wanted the cover to come all the way down. The papers are from Trillistrations and can be found here. Finally the cover image is from Oscar and Emma designs and was originally designed as an image transfer, which I flipped; you can find the original here.

I would like to also enter this into :

Crafty Catz DT Card - Easel

Morning everyone!

Are we all ready for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz this week? This week Carol set the challenge of Easel Cards and we are sponsored by the Floppy Latte Digital Stamps. I got a head start on making my card for this week and used some images from Floppy Latte that I already had as part of my collection.
I used Black Eyed Susan Floral Corner and Friends are like Flowers to make this card and I kept it as clean and simple as possible as I love these style of images and think they need little adornment. I layered one of the sunflower heads and one of the leaves, added a couple of pearl gems under the sentiment and added some 3D clear gloss to the centre of the flowerheads to make them pop.

I mounted everything onto Bazzill Basics Card - Spring Breeze and finished the base of the card with a couple more pearls, a leaf button that I've had for ages and a bit of rafia. Finally, I glittered the edge of the image with stickles - I just love a bit of glitter!

I used my trusty promarkers to colour and used the following colours on this card: Canary, Gold, Pumpkin, Pear Green and Moss.

I would like to also enter this card into:

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to go and visit the other girls to be properly inspired!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Needles......felt.....ah-ha!..... Doves

Morning all,

I hope you're all keeping well and dry - can't you tell winter is on it's way?! first we get rain, rain, rain and then we get clear, crisp autumnal days and then.....back to the rain! *sigh* I do wonder if the weather is ever going to settle back into a 'normal' pattern. Probably not. But oh well!

Anyway, on to my post for today. I just really wanted to share these little cutie pies with you:
They are needle-felted doves. You can blame Kirstie Allsopp for getting me hooked on yet another crafting past-time (although I hasten to add, it's all mums equipment - so technically no one can have a go at me for yet 'more stuff'! hehe). I got hooked on her little robin that she made in her channel 4 programme last year - which you can see here and then mum and I were plotting...ehem - planning things for this years church christmas fair and what we thought might sell and we came up with the idea of making doves for decortations and these are the finished result.

We're currently bleaching tree branches which we will place the doves into so that they look like their sitting in a tree, but I couldn't wait to show you them until then, as I gave them their debut airing as part of my table decorations at the wedding fair I did a few weeks back.

Well, that's about it, until next time - happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT Card - Autumn

Good Morning!

Well, here we are, a momentous day! The first of my design team cards for Crafty Catz! Woop! I was so happy to be asked to join the team last week by these lovely ladies and I only hope that I can do them proud.

This week challenge of Autumn has been set by the ever talented Janette. We are sponsored this week by Stamp Fairy who are offering one lucky winner a $10 voucher to spend in their store.
We were kindly donated a couple of images to play with and I decided to use this sweetie of Mimi with her teddy, she reminded me so much of myself in my younger years - I always had a teddy in tow!
I started by powder embossing the edge of the base card with copper embossing powder. I followed Sketch Saturday's Layout and used scraps of pearlised card and papers from my SU Pad - Patterns Pack 3 and First Edition - Boho Chic. I printed the image and matching sentiment off and cut the image out using the largest of my Nellies Circle Die's. I also printed the image a second time on paper from my SU pad and paper pieced her dress and hair-bobbles.

I coloured her using my pro-markers: Ivory, Blush, Honeycomb, Spice, Caramel, Cinnamon, Satin, Dusky Rose, Poppy and Maroon.

Finally I dusted the edge of the sentiment tag with Colour Box Chalk; Blush Rose and used the same ink to dust over the edge of white flowers from my stash, to give them the impression of just turning. I added a button to the sentiment and cut some leaves from my Sizzix set; flowers, branches and leaves with some left over green wallpaper from my brother's flat and then dusted over the top with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink to tone it down and give the idea of the leaves just turning for the fall.

I hope you like it and don't forget over to Crafty Catz for more fabulous inspiration from the girls.

Until next time, happy crafting!
