Elfin around

Hi everyone

So here's my final Christmas card design of 2013! Nothing like a bit of festive Elf Mischief to put you in the festive spirit!

Another fab image from Mo, coloured with pro-markers and finished off with papers from freebie Christmas pads that I've collected from Craft Magazines. Finished with candy pops and stickles - lots of stickles!

I would like to enter this into Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes with Option of Sketch

Until next time, happy crafting!

Christ in Christmas

Good Evening,

Well, that's another busy day done; 9 lessons and carols have been sung and read and my vocal chords are now feeling rough indeed! time for a warm brandy. Anyway, I have Christmas Card #2 to share with you now. I made half a dozen or so of these up for my line manager and some of the seminarians and priests that I'm especially fond of at work - figured in a Seminary I should stick to a religious theme and Mo's beautiful design hits the spot!

I adore the simplicity of this image, but it's so effective. I printed it off with my favourite Christmas sentiment and double mounted it onto pattern paper. I coloured the whole thing with pro-markers.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - Mega Christmas Challenge
Stampin for the weekend - Anything Goes

Until next time, happy crafting!

Snowflake Sentiments

Morning all,

Well, I've finally finished for Christmas, but sadly there is no rest for the wicked! I haven't stopped since Friday lunchtime! (although I will own up that most of yesterday was spent catching up with a good friend - so not all work!)

But it does mean that this is the first chance I've had to put this years Christmas cards up on the blog!

So this is #1 - i'll be back later today and tomorrow with the other designs.

So these cards use the snowflake decorations which I shared here.  I cut circles out of the centre of the cards; embossed the edges and smothered in stickles (which doesn't show up very well on the pics) and added a chipboard sentiment, before looping on the snowflake itself.

For the first time in an age, I would like to enter some challenges: Simon Say's - Bling it on and Dream Valley - Christmas

Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty CAtz DT - Anything Goes (Last DT card of 2013)

 Hi everyone,

Another Friday closer to Christmas and our last Crafty Catz challenge of the year. Because we know you're all so manically busy we've kept it nice and simple with 'Anything Goes'. We have two fab sponsors this week - Crimson Cloud and Marianne Designs.
Pack of 3 diecuts

and
So on with my card this week which is for a friend of mine and its another dreaded male birthday!
I took the concept from a Christmas card I did last year and cut a star out of plain white card stock and then embossed it. I added ribbon and mounted it on blue card. I then cut a smaller star, mounted on foam pad and covered in stickles. In the middle of some of the circles I added gems and over the ribbon, in the same blue card I added his name.

Simple and effective and thankfully he loved it. phew!

So there we go, can't wait to see your entries this week and don't forget to stop by the blog to see the rest of the girls fab designs!

Until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - 2 or more dies

Good morning everyone,

So here we are again, another Friday closer to Christmas and another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks theme has been set by Kim who would like to see you all use two or more dies. We are sponsored this week by the team at Kenny K who are offering our winner 5 images of their choice.
I own up now to not having made a card this week - I've been down with a bronchial chest infection and it's left me totally wiped out, so instead I've been making snowflake decorations for the dining room window at home.
I've had all the elements pre-cut for a while as I made a pile up for my craft stall last month too. They are spellbinders snowflake dies and I cut out plain white and pearlescent pale blue card stock which I've layered up on foam pads. It's double sided and finished with a crystal gem in the middle.

There are 5 layers in total, and I'm sorry the pictures don't show off the pearl card very well. I intend on making a few more of these and incorporating them into a card for some family members, so they have a two-in-one card and decoration.

Anyway, enough rambling from me, do go see the other fantastic creations on the blog and until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Santa is coming to town!

Morning all,

So Christmas is most definitely on its way, scary how fast the year has gone. Anyone else not started on their Christmas cards yet?! lol!

Well, at least this weeks challenge has forced me to make one! the lovely Nick has challenged us all to make a Christmas card with one or more Santa's on it. We are sponsored this week by the fab Mei Flowers, who are offering our lucky winner a £20 voucher!
Rambling over, on to the card!
I only have one Santa image and it's 'that' image - I have the original wooden version of this, although it has been reproduced in silicone - it is smaller however.

The image is mounted on black card, stickles around the edge. The Bingo card is a freebie I found online, the sentiment a freebie from a magazine and the papers are from this years Do-Crafts Noel collection. Ribbon and pips from stash and there we have it.

Do remember to pop by the challenge blog to say hi and see the other creations, until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Bags and Tags

Good Morning,

Another Friday closer to Christmas - seriously where has this year gone?! it's scary! but we're not quite in Christmas mode at Crafty Catz, this week Jac has set us all the challenge of Bags and/or Tags. So if you want to get ahead on Christmas gift bags or tags, feel free - but I'm still on Birthday mode at the moment; 4 more to go before Christmas!

This week we have two fab sponsors; Crafty Ribbons and Digi Stamps for Joy. They are offering our lucky winners:
and
Digistamps4Joy SHOP
5 digi's of winners choice

You lucky things! So on with my creation this week. I'm not much of a gift bag girl - all about the boxes for me, but I am really getting into tags at the moment and this is what I came up with:

I used two embossed and slightly glittered cardstock pieces and cut them to 1.5cm wide and wove them. I then glued the whole thing onto a kraft card backing and using my trusty template, drew and cut out the overall shape (yes, it is the same shape as the tags I made a couple of weeks ago). I then glued down the loose ends on the top.

The sentiment is from Digi Stamps for Joy, which I cut out using my nestie dies, sprayed with shimmer mist and edged with Sahara calk ink. The roses are Marianne D dies and the leaf punch is woodware. I dusted the top of the roses with Rose Blush chalk ink and cut the leaves from scraps of paper. I layered the whole thing up and added some organza ribbon for the loop.

So there we go, I was really pleased with how this turned out - in fact I'm a tad reluctant to part with it! lol! Don't forget to pop by Crafty Catz to see the rest of the girls fab creations and do come play with us.

Until next time - happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Anything But Square

Hi everyone,

Another Friday is here - goodness me, where has the time gone?! well last weekend was the Church Fundraiser and although footfall was down we still managed to make just under £1000 on the craft stall (not all made by Mum and Me I hasten to add!). So onwards with my fundraiser this weekend..... which fits neatly in with this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz which has been set by the wonderful Christine - which is 'Anything but Square'.

We are sponsored this week by Alota who are offering our lucky winners a $15 voucher:

So, my project this week is all about decking the halls:

Christmas Baubles! I'm sure everyone has seen or made these or something similar in the past. I used the second largest bauble die from spellbinders and used up papers from Do-crafts Christmas Noel collection. on the bottom I added a pearl and a crystal dropper. On the top I added a crystal and then a jewellery finding to top it off.

There are 8 sections to these baubles and I glued everything using wet glue as I found it stuck better than anything else. It's all strung on extra strong white cotton.

So there we go, do stop by the blog this week to see some amazing creations by the rest of the team and until next time, happy crafting!
