Crafty Catz DT - New Beginnings

Morning all and welcome back to Crafty Catz Challenges

Did you miss us whilst we all had a little break? Well whether you did or didn't we're back with a fabulous new challenge set by Nick and sponsored by Crafty Sentiments. The theme is New Beginnings and our lucky winner gets 3 images of their choice.

Now I'll hands up admit that my card is totally cased from a card done by the fabulous Vicky over at Clips and Cuts. If you've never seen her work, check her out and she has an amazing youtube channel too.

So with that in my mind, here is this weeks creation:
I sort of wish I'd made the birdhouse bigger and sadly, the bird on the top didn't make it through the fussy cutting due to it being so small.

The background is coloured with Cool Aqua and the rest of the image with Henna, Slate, Moss, Red, Poppy and Dusky Pink.

The sentiment is a freebie I found on pinterest and the leaves are from a sizzix die set, dusted with memento forest green ink.

So there we go. My card for this weeks challenge. I hope you like it and are all fired up to play along with us again at Crafty Catz this week. Until next time though, happy crafting.

Crafty Catz DT - Clean and Simple

Morning all. Did you all have a good bank holiday weekend (if you're in the UK)? Sadly we had rain, rain and then I had to work Monday, but there you go.

Many thanks for all who sent well wishes for my voice. It settled down fairly quickly and normal service is resumed.

We have a new challenge for you this week at Crafty Catz and this weeks theme has been set by the lovely Janette who wants to see Clean and Simple cards. We are sponsored this week by Crafty Sentiments who are offering our lucky winner 3 digi's of their choice

My card this week is this:
The image is coloured in the following Promarkers: Red, Poppy, Burgundy, Lime Green, Moss, China Blue, Sky Blue, Cool Aqua, Gold, Pumpkin, Apricot, Burnt Orange, Mulberry, Plum, Amethyst, Terracotta, Honeycomb Spice and Blush.

The papers are from an old pad which I've lost the cover from. I punched all the corners with my Xcut punch and edged the base and image with faber castell fine-liner.

Hope you like it; don't forget to join in with us this week at Crafty Catz. Until next time, happy crafting

Crafty Catz DT - Oh my, teddies!

Good Morning!

What a week! School groups, public tours, moving the Stanbrook Abbey archives, 2 training courses and then choir, booking my holiday (it's another cruise! yay!) and finishing off my costume for the Venice Carnival. - I'm exhausted and for my sins I'm spending all day tomorrow singing......

But anyway, onto this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz . Our challenge this week has been set by Nick who would like to see Teddies on your creations on this week. We are sponsored this week by Crafty Sentiments who are offering our lucky winners 3 digi images of their choice

Sorry about the photos this week - the light levels have been awful!  but anyhoo. The image is called couples and is coloured with promarkers in caramel, cinnamon, henna, spice, terracotta, burnt orange, pumpkin, meadow green, poppy, cool grey 1 and lime green

I used papers from Kaisercraft Lush Collection, ribbon from Docrafts simply floral ribbon pack, inked up an x-cut doily with versamagic in sahara sand and thatched straw and finished it with a memory box diecut betterfly and gems from stash.

So there we go. I hope you like it and do swing by the blog to see everyone else's gorgeous creations. Until next time though, happy crafting!
