Crafty Catz DT - Autumn

Morning all,

Another Friday is here - seriously, where has this week gone? Well, where ever the week has gone, it's now the end of the working week and that only means one thing - a new challenge over at Crafty Catz! this week's theme has been set by the lovely Janette and is Autumn. We have two sponsors this week.

Creative Classroom
A free set to any one of our online classes.

Fred She Said
$15 Gift Card

We were given some lovely images to play with and I decided to keep it nice and plain and simple.
I coloured the leaf with my watercolour pencils for a change as it was the perfect digi to use them on. I printed the sentiment off the computer on the same card base and just lifted it off the base card with some autumnal spotty paper.

CAS from me but the girls have pulled out the stops with some stunning creations this week so do go take a look. Until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Recycle

Morning all,

Another Friday means a new challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks theme has been set by Ingrid and she would like to see you Recycle, so any of those things that would normally end up in the bin - try and use them this week.

We are sponsored this week by Fred She Said who are offering our winner $15 voucher

My project this week is a gift bag.
I had this little brown bag left over from a shopping trip to the famers market the other week and although I know you can buy these for craft projects - I don't. It's not really my kind of thing to do as a normal run of the mill craft project. So I thought this would be perfect for the challenge this week. I mooched for inspiration on Pinterest (I love that site!) and this is my final design:
The papers are left over 12x12 scraps - I don't know which brand they are, though my gut instinct is to say Bunny Zoe. I printed the sentiment on Kraft card, the ribbon is East of India, paper doilies from stash and the butterflies were sent to me by a friend so I'm not too sure which brand they are. I inked up the paper, doilies and the butterflies with sunflower and Sahara sands memento inks.

So there you go. It was fairly quick to assemble, although it took me an age to settle on the design. I hope you like it though and don't forget to take part in the challenge and see the swoon worthy projects from the other girls over at Crafty Catz.

Until next time. Happy Crafting

Crafty Catz DT - Animals

Happy Friday!

Another week - where has it gone? seriously, this year is going far too fast for my liking! Easter is almost upon us - how did that happen?

Anyway, another Friday means another challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week the theme has been set by Aunty Sue who would like to see you all use an Animal on your card this week. We have two sponsors Creative Classroom and Fred She Said

A free set to any one of our online classes. The student has up to one year to claim their prize.
$15 Voucher

Fred She Said also gave us a cute image to play with this week and you can see it on some of the other girl's cards, but I already had an image from them called 'Wee Hummingbird' that I wanted to use so here it is:
The background is a memory box die, cut from peach floral paper from an Echo Park pad (can't remember it's name) I accented the background with gems in green, red and plum. The image is coloured with promarkers in Saffron, Gold, Burgundy, Slate, Pear Green, Moss and Forest Green. I layered the body of the hummingbird and the bottom flower to give some dimension.

I hope you like it and don't forget to swing by the other girl's blogs to spread some love. Until next time though - happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Pretty in Pink

Good Morning one and all and here's to another Friday and a brand new challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week's challenge has been set by the lovely Aunty Sue and the theme is Pretty in Pink. So we're looking for predominantly pink creations this week please.

We are sponsored this week by Crimson Cloud and Fred She Said

3 Packs of Die Cuts

$15 Gift Voucher

We are also looking for a GDT for February. So if you fancy trying your hand, just put GDT after your name. You don't have to be experienced as we all have to start somewhere - I'd never had a DT place and then tried out and here I am as a full time member of this fab team!

Although we were kindly given images to play with, I have a couple of Fred She Said digi's in my stash and at least one of them had never been inked up, so I used the gorgeous Magnolia Flower Digi which has been unloved, to showcase this week
I used the pre-edited images to layer up the flower, mounted it on a circle dusted on the edge with colourbox chalk- Blush rose, and coloured the flower in promarker's of Blush, Dusky Rose, Blossom, Gold, Moss and Pear Green

The DP's are from the Spring Jubilee Pad, which came free with Cardmaking and Papercraft last year. The plain papers are dovecraft colour basics. I used a lace doily and cut a couple of butterflies from another sheet of paper and finished it all off with some crystal gems

So there we go! I hope you like it and don't forget to pop by everyone else's blogs to see their fab creations too.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges
Mojo Monday - Sketch #327
Handmade Harbour - Blue or Pink

Until next time, happy crafting!
