Crafty Catz DT - Stitching

Morning all,

Another exhausting week is almost over, but a busy weekend still lies ahead - at some point I might stop long enough to have a proper break! Never mind!

On with another challenge card nonetheless. Kim has set this weeks challenge over at Crafty Catz and she would like to see Stitching - Real or Faux on your creations this week

We are sponsored this week by Sami Stamps who are offering our lucky winner a $12 gift card.

My card this week:

I coloured this gorgeous image with promarkers in the following colours; Apricot, Oatmeal, Blush, Terracotta, Spice and Honeycomb, Dusky Rose, Maroon and Burgundy.

The papers are from the Floral Fantasy pad, designed by Louise Tiler which came free with a magazine, edges dusted with Memento Ink - Bamboo Leaves and Versa Magic Ink - Pixie Dust and Perfect Plumeria.

I had drew the background shape on a scrap of paper, drew intersecting lines, cut it up to act as a template and then settled on four papers to build it back up. Inked all the edges, stuck it down then drew faux stitching all around. I mounted the image on a precut oval which I edged with Perfect Plumeria then added more faux stitching.

A couple of butterflies punched from shimmer paper and some gems finished the card.

I hope you like it and please pop by the challenge blog to see more fabulous inspiration. Until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Oh my, teddies!

Good Morning!

What a week! School groups, public tours, moving the Stanbrook Abbey archives, 2 training courses and then choir, booking my holiday (it's another cruise! yay!) and finishing off my costume for the Venice Carnival. - I'm exhausted and for my sins I'm spending all day tomorrow singing......

But anyway, onto this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz . Our challenge this week has been set by Nick who would like to see Teddies on your creations on this week. We are sponsored this week by Crafty Sentiments who are offering our lucky winners 3 digi images of their choice

Sorry about the photos this week - the light levels have been awful!  but anyhoo. The image is called couples and is coloured with promarkers in caramel, cinnamon, henna, spice, terracotta, burnt orange, pumpkin, meadow green, poppy, cool grey 1 and lime green

I used papers from Kaisercraft Lush Collection, ribbon from Docrafts simply floral ribbon pack, inked up an x-cut doily with versamagic in sahara sand and thatched straw and finished it with a memory box diecut betterfly and gems from stash.

So there we go. I hope you like it and do swing by the blog to see everyone else's gorgeous creations. Until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - New Beginnings

Morning all,

Are we all ready for some New Beginnings? that's the theme set by Carol for this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz. Our sponsors this week are Crafty Ribbons who are offering our lucky winners a £10 Gift Voucher

Like many of my team-mates I chose to celebrate new life in my card this week. I have a good friend who's due in April so it's nice to get ahead on making the card.

I used the slightly smaller card in a box dimensions to make this card so that it will fit in a C6 envelope.

The base card is Core Cardstock in Vanilla Cream, the accent card is Core Cardstock in Buttercup, the edges dusted Versa Magic, Sahara. The back blue panel is just paper from the scraps box. The fence is a die cut I was kindly sent, the grass is hand cut from green scrap paper dusted with Distress Ink in Shabby Shutter.

I hand cut the little bibs and the washing line. The bunting is another die I was sent, coloured with Versa Magic inks Sea Breeze and Turquoise Gem

The green border at the base and the butterflies are both Martha Stewart punches.

I think that's about it. I hope you like it and don't forget to come and play along with us this week.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Polka Dots

Morning!

So who else went back to work on Monday?! who else is really glad it's the end of the week now? yep, thought so. Well, grab a cup of something and get ready for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz.
Our challenge this week has been set by Cindy who would like to see you use Polka Dots on your creations. We are sponsored this week by Inky Impressions who are offering a $10 Gift Voucher to our lucky winner

My card this week was inspired by the text digi we were given to play with:

The sentiment actually comes as one piece, I just cut it in half on the computer to create this card. The cloud shape was drawn by hand, the polka dot paper is from Autumn Creations, the coloured paper is from stash and I dusted the edge of the card with Distress Ink in Polished Pebble and faux stitched with black and white gel pens.

That's about it. I hope you're inspired to play along.

Until next time, happy crafting

Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2015 and the first challenge of the year from Crafty Catz. To help ease everyone back into the challenges we're starting with everyone's favourite - Anything Goes

Our sponsor this week is Fitztown who are offering our lucky winner 3 images of their choice

My card this week is actually my brother's birthday card. As his birthday is January 1st I always struggle to find inspiration to make his card - well, that and the fact I hate making men's birthday cards!

I cased a card I found on Pinterest (got to love that site for inspiration!) and came up with this

It's a great card to use up scraps I have to say. The sentiment and name are computer generated, the shape is hand cut and the blue thread is actually embroidery silk. I brushed the edge of the shape with versa magic ink in turquoise and mounted it on foam pads.

I hope you like it and don't forget to come and play with us at Crafty Catz this week.

Until next time Happy Crafting!
