Unicorns and Rainbows

Evening all

Here's a fun little project I did for some happy mail for my friends:

The sentiment is computer generated, I merged it with the image file before printing. I used promarkers and saskai glitter and white gel pens for accents and finished with some metallic hearts.

Afternoon all,

I'm having a bit of a crafty clear out and I've got some stamps that I've had for so long that I've never used or only used a couple of times. It's time to part ways with them and send them to someone who will use them with joy.

New Home Card

Hi all

Just a quick card to share today. My best friend got the keys to her new place last week so this was just a congrats card for her. This is her 3rd house though so I needed to do something totally different to the last couple I made her and I went searching on pinterest for inspiration. I found a few cards done with the accent house idea and so this is what I came up with.

I tried to keep it clean and simple but still fun so I went with 2 bold colours and minimal accents

Hope you have an A-Maze-Zing Birthday

 Morning all

Another batch of cards made for birthdays coming up, these are as simple as they could get really. Sorry about the pictures, the light levels have been awful and I still need to invest in a light box or studio setup.
The sentiment was computer generated and I used my nesting circle dies to find the best size to cut the hole for the maze. The supplies all came from Seven Hills Crafts and are by My Favourite things and can be found here, here and here

Ruby Wedding Anniversary

Hi

A simple card to share today which I made for my parents' Ruby Wedding Anniversary. They've never been big on the celebrating thing and they were desperate to avoid a party, so they went off on a mini cruise around Scotland, enjoying their fair share of whisky!

I really struggled with coming up with a card design which was 'them' and then I stumbled across a video by Jennifer McGuire on youtube which I'd missed which gave me all sorts of ideas and this is what I came up with:

Up to four layers of cardstock on each heart , topped with glossy accents and finished with two sizes of pearls.

The video I mentioned can be found here

Unfortunately I did the glossy accents and then had to run straight out the door to a meeting so there are some air bubbles but the overall effect wasn't spoilt.

30th Birthday Twist and Pop Card

Hi everyone!

I'm back with card, this one is for my sister (in-laws) 30th Birthday. I wanted to do something extra special as it was a big birthday and I took to pinterest and youtube for inspiration and came across loads of Twist and Pop cards, which apparently were a craze about a year ago. Clearly I missed that one! anyway I found a really good tutorial on youtube which meant I didn't have to have such a big mechanism inside - you can see it here

I set out with very little real design in mind but this was the outcome:

Crafty Wreath

A photo heavy post to share with you today. I brought this amazing kit from Tee Pee Crafts in July and I've only just had time to sit down and enjoy making it.

Isn't it just fabulous. When I saw it at the NEC I knew I needed it to go in spare room/craft space and I was gutted when they said they'd sold out! They did however, very kindly, offer to make me a kit and post it out after the show (they even waived the postage costs!) and I can't thank them enough, because I adore it!

The kit comes with everything to make this wreath
All you need is a hot glue gun or a strong adhesive of your choice and some time. Sadly the kit isn't available on the website, but you can buy some of the elements on the website:
Burlap - here
Lace - here
Bobbins and scissors - here
Buttons - here

Similar elements are listed below:
Tape Measure Ribbon - here

That's all for now. Until next time, happy crafting!

A new Priest of the Church

Afternoon all,

Just a quick card to share with you all today. Summer means lots of Ordinations to the church and as I have the privilege to know a number of Priests to be through the course of their training, I'm also blessed to get invitations to attend their ordinations also.

I try to make every card unique to the Priest and this year, this was my card. The design isn't mine - it's from an embroidery pattern by Mary Corbet over at needleandtread. The design was printed onto heavy weight watercolour paper and layered. The image was coloured with my really old windsor and newton travel watercolour pallet.

Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes with twist of Anything but a Card

Good Morning!

Well today marks the last challenge for Crafty Catz for a month whilst the team take a short summer vacation. It is also my last challenge as a Design Team member. I've had an amazing few years with the team and I can't thank my fellow DT members enough for all their support and kindness but it's time to step down and let someone else out there share their talents.

With that being said, this weeks challenge is - as always - Anything Goes with the optional twist of making Anything but a card. We are sponsored this week by the fabulous team over at Crafty Ribbons and they are offering our lucky winner a £10 voucher to the store

My final project this week is a cross stitched baby sampler.

So that's it for me as a DT member but not goodbye for good. Until next time though - happy crafting!
