Crafty Catz DT - Fantasy/Fairy

Morning all,

Here's to the end of another week - it's been a trying one, not least because of the stupid cold I'm suffering with. Got to love to hate this time of year.

Anyway, Friday morning means a new challenge at Crafty Catz and this week its my theme and I would like to see Fantasy or Fairy inspired cards. We are sponsored this week by Morgan's Art World who are kindly offering our lucky winner a  3 images of their choice

The image I used on my card this week is called Gerient and Enid.
My card this week is inspired by my love of reading and the books are all scraps of paper, I created a book with the digi and made it stand up from the page, I manipulated it in photoshop so that it was at an angle. The image is coloured with distress inks and promarkers.

I printed one of my all time favourite Pratchett quotes out onto velum to finish the design. It's the perfect sentiment about Fantasy - "So you're saying humans need fantasies to make life bearable?" "No, humans need fantasy to BE human" - too right!

I hope you like the design, it was fun to make, more like a journal page really but it was an idea that wouldn't leave me alone. I quite like how it turned out, even if it is quite muted in colour.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you create. Until next time, happy crafting!

My card this week uses lots of scrap papers and buttons from stash. I hand cut all the elements for this card and I have to say, I wouldn't do that again. There is something to be said about the dies which do the work for you!

Nothing much to explain, just a simple card this week. Until next time though. Happy Crafting!

Crafty Catz DT- Clean and Simple

Morning all!

What a week! or should I say, what a fortnight. I just need to sleep for a month to recharge. Sadly, that isn't going to be possible, but oh well!

Friday mornings  mean the latest challenge for Crafty Catz and this weeks theme is set by Jac who wants to see Clean and Simple Cards. We are sponsored this week by Aurora Wings who are offering our lucky winner $15 of images

We were given a couple of gorgeous images to play with and I picked Pansy Corner, which some of you will realise is similar in style to a sweet pea stamp I have and adore, so I'm thrilled to have a different design on the same style to play with.
The image is coloured with promarkers in lilac, amystgyst, plum, sky blue, cool aqua, china blue, moss and lime green. The central pansy and the butterfly are decoupaged to give the image some dimension.

The awesome sentiment is from Tiddly Inks and is part of a set of life sentiments you can buy. I double mounted the image on some scrap purple and teal papers to finish.

Now it's been forever since I entered a challenge so I thought I'd give it a go again; therefore I'd like to enter this card into the following:
As You Like It - Favourite Flower and Why : Pansy's as they were one of the first flowers I ever managed to grow successfully as a child (I do not have green fingers)
Crafting With An Attitude - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp- For the Love of Plants
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes

I hope you like it, don't forget to swing by the blog and see everyone else's amazing creations. Until next time - happy crafting.

Crafty Catz DT - Song Title To Match Image

Morning all

Another challenge for you over at Crafty Catz. Last week's was really popular so hopefully you're all finding your mojo and will come and play with us again this week.

This weeks challenge has been set by Christine and she wants you to match your cards to a song or A Song Title to Match your Image.

We are sponsored this week by Aurora Wings.

So onto my card:
My papers are from Stampin Up and Docrafts - The Little Cake Shop. The buttons and ribbon are from stash and I hand cut the Strawberry. The papers are inked with various Tim Holtz inks and the image is coloured using promarkers in the following colours: Apricot, Oatmeal, Blossom, Dusky Rose, Maroon, Poppy, Ruby, Red, Mustard, Gold, Lime Green and Apple.

So there you have it. Do stop by the challenge blog. Until next time, happy crafting.
