Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes with twist of Ice Cream

Happy Friday! 

Here's to end of another week and a new challenge at Crafty Catz Challenges. Our theme this week is, as always, Anything Goes but our optional twist is Ice Cream be it colours, images or whatever ice cream means to you.

My card this week uses their cute ice cream cone digi

I shrunk the digi and copied it to create a repeat background paper which I coloured with whisper pens in the colours that remind me of ice creams from when I was a kid (and last week...... ) I topped the card with a computer generated sentiment, some coordinating summertime papers and finished it stickles.

Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes with Add 5

Morning All,

I love these rabbit heads, they make me smile - I've coloured them with promarkers in Caramel, Cinnamon, Pastel Yellow, Sky Blue, Duck Egg, Lime Green, Pastel Pink, Lilac and Dusky Rose. 

I've mounted the images on yellow card and it onto blue card. I found some fun spotted yellow paper in my stash and finished the whole thing with a white embossed sentiment and 5 pearls.

Greetings from Malawi! 

Only joking, I am in malawi but this is a scheduled post for the Crafty Catz challenge blog. My card this week has a retro kick as pop-up cards seem to be all the rage again these days so I thought I'd give it a go. 

The image is coloured with promarkers in Sandstone, Caramel, Honeycomb, Spice, Cinnamon, Terracotta, Oatmeal, Dusky Pink, Mustard, Pastel Yellow, Pumpkin, Ruby, Lime Zest, Meadow Green, Lime Green, Cool Grey 3, Duck Egg and Sky Blue

The card is all from stock from Paperbox, the mulicoloured thread is Anchor and the 'Made with Love' charm is from my box.

Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes with Thoughts of Spring

Morning all! 

What a week! anyone else had one of those groundhog day type weeks were everything goes wrong and then seems to repeat itself every day for the whole week?! that was mine. 

Oh well.  It's Friday, so that means a new challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks theme is Anything Goes with the twist of Thoughts of Spring.

Bugaboo do a fabulous range of images which make it so easy to run up an elegant card easily and quickly. I layered this little image on the petals and the image is coloured in Promarkers in Pastel Yellow, Buttercup, Mustard, Canary, Lime Zest, Lime Green, Saffron, Almond, Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Pumpkin and Ruby. 

The image is layered on a scrap of spotty orange paper and there you have it, clean and sensible.

Crafty Catz DT - Word Art

Morning all.

Did you have fun with last weeks Crafty Catz Challenge? we had some gorgeous entries, so thanks for playing along. 

Another Friday brings a new challenge and this weeks theme has been set by the lovely Tracey who challenges you to Word Art - so that means that words have to be the central feature of your design. I used Bugaboos fab Coffee Love image and drew around the word art to make it into a coffee mug. I then cut it, distressed it with Sahara Sands Versa Magic Ink and then went over key words in 4 different whisper marker brown pens. The background was created by stamping the bottom of a coffee cup into Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink and then smudged it out. I distressed a doily with Versa Magic Thatched Straw and used scraps of paper for the boarder. The whole thing is finished with gems and some raffia from stash.

Crafty Catz DT - Shades of Blue

Isn't the year running away with us? Before we know it Christmas will be here - eek! Well, the end of another working week means another challenge at Crafty Catz. This weeks theme is set by the lovely Dianne and is Shades of Blue. I'm on a simple streak with my cards at the moment - partly because of time constraints and partly because I struggle with elaborate cards unless I have lots of time to think about them in advance. So here's to another simple card.

I tried to make the image look a bit like a snowglobe, without all the sprinkles (I don't have any, so couldn't make a shaker card)

The image is coloured with promarkers in: Poppy, Pumpkin, Gold, Spice, Sandstone,  Cinnamon, Cool Grey 1, Pear Green, Sky Blue, Blue Pearl, Royal Blue and China Blue

The paper and silver card are from my stash and the circles were cut with my trusty Lifestyle Crafts dies. I finished the image with Stickles Stardust.

Crafty Catz DT - Flowers

Morning all and welcome back to another Crafty Catz challenge.

Wow! what a week. I could literally crawl into bed and not emerge for 2 days I'm that tired, but despite that, no lie in this morning as I took the day off to take my sister in law out to celebrate her birthday with a Chocolate High Tea. I can think of worse things to get out of bed for!

This week I've foregone a normal card so that I can play with my watercolour postcards again. I printed the image as a washout and dug out the old watercolour pencils to come up with this.

I found it really hard to get a true colour picture this week, but hopefully you get the idea. I had great fun playing with this image and I love the soft whimsical effect that has been created as a result.

Hope you're all well, I'm coming to you from an aeroplane - well sort of. This is a scheduled post as I will be flying off to my holiday as you read this.

This weeks card was a great excuse to use up some paper offcuts

The papers are from various pads, inked on the edges with versamagic - perfect plumeria, turquoise gem, sahara sands, pixie dust and tim holtz - shabby shutters.

The image is coloured with promarkers in pastel pink, moss, warm grey 1 and 2, honeycomb, canary, apricot, lavender and amethyst.

The letters are from echo park's playground range.

Morning all,

So another week is over and after a couple of quieter weeks, this one's been manic again and next week isn't looking much better, but roll on Easter and my holiday - it's the light at the end of the tunnel! but another Friday means another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week's theme has been set by Nina and she would like to see you make a project with No Design Papers. So dig out those stencils, embossing folders and stamps - it's time to make your own backgrounds.

Crafty Catz DT - For a Special Lady

Morning all, 

Here's to the end of another week! once more it's been mad and once more I have to wonder how life get's this way?! so two weekends ago I flew to Venice with my parent's to take part in Carnevale de Venezia. This has been something I've wanted to do since I was about 11 or 12 so I was delighted! the weather was cold but clear and beautiful and we had a great, albeit manic, 3 days in Venice. We landed back in the UK late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning and sadly I had to be back in work at 9am - exhausted.com! But I made it to the end of the week when I then took my eldest brother and mother to the theater to see Matthew Bourne's adaptation of Edward Scissorhands. A strange concept for a ballet I'll grant but it was amazing and I highly recommend seeing it if you ever get the chance. 

So by last Saturday I was totally wiped out and had a quite chill day at home. Well, apparently slowing down was a bad plan as the early hours of Sunday morning saw me running a fever and being violently sick - a process which carried on for the majority of Sunday. So Monday was a sick day as I spent the day catching up on sleep but Tuesday saw me back in work (I'm not a good patient) - it's amazing how much aggravation an unplanned day off can cause!

Wednesday saw me at Church before and after work, last night was my standard all night choir rehearsal and here we are again........

Exhausted yet? yep, me too!
