Bee's of Beads

Good morning lovely people of blogland,

Well, the sun is finally making an appearance and I'm just about fooled enough to think summer may be on its way! which is perfect, as it means I might be able to wear my latest beading project.
One of spellbound beads kits - they are actually intended as earrings, but I just had to make it into a pendant - they're just too cute! bzzzzz! :D I changed how they've been strung slightly from the original instructions, but other than that I've kept the design the same.

I love these little fellows. I'm in the process of making some more bee's to turn into stud earrings for my mum!

Whatever you're up to today, I do hope you get some sun and a chance to get out and enjoy it for a short while. Until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Pick and Mix

Good Morning Fellow Crafter!

How are we all this morning? is everyone as utterly sick of the up and down weather as I am? seriously, it makes me feel ill all this chopping and changing - not to mention its a nightmare as far as choosing what to wear for work is concerned!

Anyway, enough moaning and onwards with this weeks Crafty Catz challenge, which has been set by the lovely Dianne and this week, just to keep you all on your toes is 'Pick and Mix'. Now, stay with me as I explain. You have two choices this week (aren't you the lucky ones) Firstly; Anything Goes! if you choose this entry you will be entered for the following prize from Yours or Mine Papercraft
Your second choice is to make a card which features Embossing. If you do this then you will be entered into both prize draws - for Yours or Mine Papercraft (as above) AND Marianne Designs who have given us this fabulous bundle for our winner:
Everybody got that? Anything Goes = 1 entry, Embossing = 2 entries....phew! right, now that we've finished with that, onwards with this weeks card!
So, something a bit different from me this week. I hope you can get the gist of it ok, I really struggle to photograph embossed cards.

Bit quirky, but so glad with how this turned out. I started with a Craft Concepts Embossing Folder - Sycamore, which I rubbed versa magic Sea Breeze chalk ink into, so when I embossed the card stock the white was very slightly tinted, making the tree stand out slightly more (I promise it looks more blue in person and it makes a massive difference to the white on white).

I then used candy pips, the other way up to create a slightly mad blossom effect, interspersed with pearls. I added a couple of smaller butterflies from my MS punch which I glittered up with Stickles stardust and then tied an organza ribbon from stash on the base to finish. Double mounted onto coordinating cardstock and then onto a base card and it's all done.

Hope you like it! Until next time. Happy Crafting!

Happy Fathers Day

Good Evening!

Well nothing like leaving things until the last minute, but I've only just finished my father's day card for tomorrow! ooops. Oh well, at least its done!
I used this fabulous image by Tiddly Inks and coloured them with pencils for a change as I wanted a softer look. Double mounted onto stock card and printed a sentiment off the computer. I added some ribbon that I've had from the ribbon fairy since last year and added a couple of buttons which I brought at the market in Bakewell when I was up there last week and a couple of pearls to finish the whole thing off.

So there we have it. I would like to enter this into Creative Inspirations Challenge of Father's Day and Fussy and Fancy's Challenge of buttons.

So there we have it, until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Lets Go Pink!

Good Morning one and all,

Another Friday is upon us and that means another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week's challenge has been set by our fearless leader Carol, who wants you to Go Pink! So pink themed, the more pink the better....you get the idea! We have been sponsored this week by the fabulous Krista of Saturated Canary and she is kindly offering our lucky winner 2 images of their choice!

Krista being the lovely kind person she is gave us the choice of a few different images to use on our DT cards and I fell head over heals for little Sabrina, who you can find here. Without further woffle, here's my card for this week.
I started with standard card stock and then created my own template to shape the card and cut it out. I then used and embossing pen and Do-Crafts seafoam white embossing powder to create an inset boarder - I went over the boarder twice to make sure that the embossing pen line was well covered as it was blue. I then stamped and embossed flowers and leaves from a SU set I won an age ago. I then die cut an oval and covered the inside of the oval with Versa Magic Pixie Dust Pink Ink. Using the same ink I covered the inside of the card, up to the white embossed edge. I then mounted the oval using foam pads onto the base and cover the outer rim of it and the main card with as much stickles star dust as it could hold.

Meanwhile I coloured the lovely Sabrina with promarkers in the following colours:- Ivory, Blush, Pastel Pink, Dusky Rose, Blossom, Cool Grey 1, Buttercup, Pastel Yellow, Mustard and Lime Green. I then cut her out leaving a small border and mounted her onto the oval using foam pads.

I then attached the friends forever charms to a length of chain and stitched the chain into the card so that it was secure. I cover the chain and the centre of the one complete flower with tiny pink flower buttons from stash and lined the inside with pink card to finish.

And there we have it. I do hope you like the card. Don't forget to pop by the blog to see all the other lovely creations by the girls this week.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Rockin' Robin

Good Morning!

Wow! where is this week going? I feel like I've blinked and it's gone! Anyway, just a very quick post to share with you. This is one of the projects I got up to last week whilst I was away.

I've had this kit since the January and I've just not had time to sit and make them. They are one of the many designs from The Spellbound Bead Company that I have. I love their kits - there are so many I would love to make, but I just don't have time and I know that realistically I probably never wear half of them. But these guys are just perfect for the festive season and don't way too much so you don't get that awful ear-ache.
So there we go. I think I may make some more of these little guys for gifts or to order as they're just so darn cute. Anyway, enough rambling, that's it from me. Until next time though. Happy crafting!

Bubble Blooms

Morning all,

It's still my virtual self wishing you all well. Today's card is for a dear friend and fellow Crafty Catz teamie...... Aunty Sue! whose birthday was this week:
I saw this stamp over at Coop's Cluttered Corner and fell in love with it, so five minutes later it was ordered and winging its way to me. It's one of two woodware bubble bloom stamps - I have both of them and the sentiment is actually from the second set.

I was really pleased how this card turned out, so I made it a second time, in blue, for my best friends birthday on the 13th!
So there we go. I do hope you like them! I'll be back with you in person soon, but until then, happy crafting!
