Crafty Catz DT - Dies and Punches

Afternoon all,

I just popped by the blog to see if I had any lovely comments to read and there was none. Strange, I thought - then I realised that I'd scheduled this post for next month?!! oh my brain, it's taken itself off on holiday. So, my apologies for the delay in this post, which should have gone live yesterday.

This weeks challenge at Crafty Catz is set by Dianne who wants to see you use your Dies and Punches. We are sponsored this week by Digi Stamps for Joy who are offering our lucky winner 5 images of the winners choice.
 Digistamps4Joy SHOP

So with that in mind, here's my card this week

I decided to keep it simple and girly. The backing paper is a scrap from an old sheet, which I've lost the name to, the edges are dusted with Perfect Plumarie Versamagic ink. An inner boarder is hand drawn with white gel ink. The doily is Xcut and inked up with Perfect Plumarie and Pixie Dust ink. The Butterflies are Memory Box and inked with Sahara Sands and Thatched Straw ink. The gems are from stash and the sentiment is covered in stickles stardust.

So there we go. Hope you like it and hope you're inspired to come and play with us over at Crafty Catz this week. The rest of the team's creations are gorgeous so do stop by to drool. Until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - For a Special Lady

Morning all,

Here's to the end of another week! once more it's been mad and once more I have to wonder how life get's this way?! so two weekends ago I flew to Venice with my parent's to take part in Carnevale de Venezia. This has been something I've wanted to do since I was about 11 or 12 so I was delighted! the weather was cold but clear and beautiful and we had a great, albeit manic, 3 days in Venice. We landed back in the UK late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning and sadly I had to be back in work at 9am - exhausted.com! But I made it to the end of the week when I then took my eldest brother and mother to the theater to see Matthew Bourne's adaptation of Edward Scissorhands. A strange concept for a ballet I'll grant but it was amazing and I highly recommend seeing it if you ever get the chance.

So by last Saturday I was totally wiped out and had a quite chill day at home. Well, apparently slowing down was a bad plan as the early hours of Sunday morning saw me running a fever and being violently sick - a process which carried on for the majority of Sunday. So Monday was a sick day as I spent the day catching up on sleep but Tuesday saw me back in work (I'm not a good patient) - it's amazing how much aggravation an unplanned day off can cause!

Wednesday saw me at Church before and after work, last night was my standard all night choir rehearsal and here we are again........

Exhausted yet? yep, me too!

Now that everyone's caught up it's time to focus on this weeks challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week's theme has been set by Anna and she would like you to make a card For a Special Lady. We are sponsored this week by the fab team at Bugaboo Stamps who are offering our lucky winner 7 images of their choice

My card this week features the fab image 'Bubble Your Troubles'

I coloured the image with promarkers in the following colours: apricot, oatmeal, henna, spice, cinnamon, pastel blue, pearl blue, midnight blue, warm grey 1, cool grey 2, moss, gold, ruby and dusky rose.

The papers are Basic Grey and the buttons and ribbon are from stash.

I hope you like it and are inspired to play along with us this week at Crafty Catz. Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Birthday's

Morning all,

Here we go again! so Saturday was Dad's 60th Birthday, Sunday I went to an Artists Trade show to discuss commissioning a piece of work from one of my favourite modern artists. Monday I was at the NEC in Birmingham for the International Spring Trade Show, sourcing suppliers for the shop at work. Wednesday I had a specialist tour and last night I was back rehearsing with the choir I sing with - who, just to add to my manic life - rehearse on the other side of town from me!

So Friday's here and that only means one thing in my diary - a new challenge at Crafty Catz. This weeks challenge has been set by Janette and she wants to see Birthday Cards. We are sponsored by Rick St Dennis who are offering our lucky winner 3 images from their collection.

My card this week uses the image Sophie

The image is coloured with promarkers in the following colours; caramel, cinnamon, henna, apricot, oatmeal, pastel pink, burnt orange, dusky rose, ruby, lime green, moss, cornflower, midnight blue and warm grey 1.

The background die is a die by Crafty Ann and the papers are from the Kaisercraft- Madame boutique pad. The sentiment is a freebie I found on pinterest and the gems and pearls are from my stash.

I do hope you like it. Don't forget to pop by the challenge blog to see the other gorgeous creations this week. Until the next time though, happy crafting.

Happy Birthday Dad - the Big 6-0!

Evening all,

A non design team card for a change! lol! this weekend was Dad's 60th Birthday and I wanted to make something a little different for him. I looked around for some inspiration and settled on a tunnel card. Being the big 6-0 I wanted to make sure it was on there but then the issue was making a male card - I know I've said it before but I'll say it again, I hate men's cards! I kept it clean and simple and pulled out lots of dies.
I used my star dies, the letters are memory box and the numbers are cuttlebug kids thinlets. I hand cut the circles having traced the outside of the stars to create the pattern. The papers are all metallic blue's and cream. The 60 and the letters were also double embossed using glimmer powder.

So there you go, my dad's 60th birthday card. Glad I don't have to make my mums for another 2 years!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sparkle N Sprinkle - Anything Goes - Using loose glitter, Embossing Powder and/or Flock
Imagination Crafts - Anything Goes
Crafting from the heart - Anything Goes
