Crafty Catz DT - Swirls and Pearls

Good morning lovely makers and creators! How is everyone on this fine day?

Today is the first day of a 5 day break for me! woop! There are some definite perks to working for the Church and a full Easter Weekend is one of them - I haven't had one of them since I was at school!

Anyway, I'm rambling and shall stop and tell you all about this weeks lovely challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks theme has been set by the lovely Dianne and she would like to see you make something with Swirls and Pearls!

We are sponsored this week by Redonkulous Designs who are offering our lucky winner 16000 Redonkulous Reward Points which is the equivalent of 2 to 4 digi products.

We were very kindly given some images to use for this weeks challenge, but sadly I spent most of last week and the start of this week battling with a bad head/bad back and general fatigue and was unable to come up with a card using one of their lovely images.

Instead, I have this card to share with you which fits the theme:
Using my new favourite shaped cards - love them! I then hand cut Craft Creations Christmas Scrolls paper as a backing, added raffia in a sort of bow and then mounted a double oval in the centre using light brown Kraft paper and white card. I then used Sizzix leaf dies to cut the branches of the cherry blossom and two sizes of woodware punches for the blossoms themselves. The butterflies are MS and covered with my ever trusty stickles stardust to give them a shine, pearls in the flower centres and finished with a lettering cut from memory box letter dies in the centre.

So there we have it. I hope you like it, I was really pleased with the outcome and I hope my friend who will shortly be receiving it does too.

Do stop by the challenge blog to see the rest of the teams lovely creations and why not join us this week?

I would also like to enter this into Simon Says challenge this week of Anything Goes and CRAFT challenge blog theme of Mothers Day/Female

Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Sparkle and Bow

Good Morning,

Do you have that Friday feeling? is it crunchy time?....oooh I could really go for a crunchy today. Anyway, Friday means only one thing - yep, you've got it - a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this weeks challenge has been set by Sassy who would like to see you all make a card with Sparkle and a Bow.

We have two fabulous sponsors this week; Bunnyzoe Crafts and Digital Delights:
So without further ado here is my card this week:
Just a CAS card using a format that I haven't done since last January! shocking. But there we go. The base is stamped with SU flowers in white ink, with a double boarder using a white gel pen. The outer boarder was gone over with stickles after too.

Tilda was coloured with promarkers in the following colours: ivory, blush, sandstone, cinnamon, caramel, apple, pear green, terracotta, sky blue, china blue and buttercup.

She is cut out and mounted using silicone glue onto a red circle which is also edged in stickles. This was then mounted onto a white circle which I had wrapped with red ribbon. I finished the topper with a bow of the same ribbon.

So there we have it, thanks for dropping by. Until next time, happy crafting!

Oooh look who got published.....

Evening all,

Just had to share a little bit of excitement with you all, as I just found out that my letter was published in this months Cardmaking and Papercraft:
Not the best photo in the world, sorry! it's off my phone (my main camera being elsewhere at the moment). But anyone recognise the card? hmm.... yup it was this one from back at the start of February - just proves how long ago I sent the original message! lol!

Anyway, just had to share. Until next time, happy crafting!

The present is a point just passed

Afternoon all,

How is everyone? I hope you've all had a good weekend, whatever it is you've been up to. Well, I finally got chance to make a card today that has nothing to do with design team work or necessary birthday cards - it's been about a month since I had time just to play.

So here it is:
I used one of the gorgeous Victorian ladies from Tiddly inks and teamed her up with a Victorian style clock face, which I layered to give the card some dimension. I finished it with one of my all time favourite sayings - 'The present is a point just passed'

It's a nice simple card but I like how it's turned out. I would like to enter this into Tiddly Inks Challenge - Clean and Simple.

Until next time, thanks for dropping by and happy crafting.

Crafty Catz DT - Make You Laugh

Good Morning Everyone,

Well here we are again, another Friday, another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks challenge has been set by the lovely Carol who would like you to  Make Us Laugh! great fun don't you think - so time to pull out those funny images and stamps that make you chuckle whilst you're colouring them in and see what you can come up with.

We are sponsored this week by Bugaboo Stamps.

They also let us choose an image to play with and I just had to get this one!
Oh it does remind me of my darling urban family when we get together - and my girls and I only ever drink pink wine when we are together so pink wine was what this card had to have - which in turn led to the colour scheme for the whole thing (Note: we're all brunettes actually but the card would be less fun if I did that)

So I coloured the image with promarkers in the following colours: buttercup, mustard, ivory, blush, dusky pink, pastel pink, dusky rose, cool aqua, china blue, pear green, honeycomb and cinnamon.

The papers care from the Boho Chic pad and pips and stickles star dust from stash.

So there we have it, I do hope you like it! Until next time, thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Monster Mash

Evening all,

Just a very quick post to share with you a card I made for my cousin, whose birthday is on Saturday. I decided to use one of the fabulous Tiddly Ink digi's I have in my stash and a really old sketch that's in one of my notebooks to come up with this:
Clean, simple and hopefully that tricky balance of being fun, whilst still a bit more grown up for an 8 year old.

Thanks for dropping by and I'll see you again on Friday with a new challenge card for Crafty Catz. Until then, happy crafting!

Crafty catz DT - All Stitched Up

Good Morning lovely people!

How is everyone today? My apologies for being totally AWOL of late. I took up my new job on February 4th and I've been manic ever since. The same week also saw the start of a brand new youth group at Church on a Friday night. Throw in Fencing, Choir and the Magazine editing and free time is a dream! I promise I'll try and be better about getting round to see you all!

Right, enough rambling and on to this weeks challenge for Crafty Catz which has been set by the lovely Kim, who wants to see stitching - real or faux - on your cards this week. We are sponsored by Alota Stamps who are offering our lucky winner a $15 gift voucher.

We were given this lovely little image to play with and I coloured her with promarkers in the following colours: ivory, blush, dusky pink, pastel pink, dusky rose, pear green, honeycomb, china blue and blue pearl. The papers are from My Minds Eye - Pretty Please Spring Papers. The ribbon and pips are from stash.

I edged the base card with faux stitches and then layered up the circles, which I had added faux stitching too previously. I then cut a slit top and bottom in line with the stitching, which I threaded the ribbon through. I mounted the image and added pips in co-ordinating colours to finish the design.

So that's it. Thanks for stopping by and until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - St David's Day

Good Morning! Wow, it's the first of March already - what's happened to the start of the year? I can't believe it's gone so fast. Anyhoo - another Friday means another new challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks theme has been set by the lovely Nina who, in honour of St David's Day, would like to see you make a card with either a Dragon or a Daffodil on it.

We have two lovely sponsors this week; Pink Gem Designs and J&C Creations
3 digi images of winners choice

I settled on Daffodils for my card and came up with this:
I had this idea of doing a fade out series of images. I was inspired by an animation cell that I have of mickey mouse in his various stages of completion from line drawing to finished image. Well, this isn't anywhere near as technical or amazing but I coloured the 4 images with pencils and mounted them on a hand cut and drawn shaped piece of floral paper from Fancy Pants Design's Paper Pad - Beach Babe and then mounted the whole thing onto some gingham paper from My Minds Eye Paper Pad - Blink of an Eye. The design was finished with some pearls in cream, green and blue.

So there we have it. I hope you like it and you're inspired to join us this week at Crafty Catz. Until next time though, happy crafting.
