Crafty Catz DT - Stitching Real or Fake

Good Morning all you lovely people,

I can't believe we are at Good Friday already, lent has flown by. Whatever you do today, I hope you are blessed.

Now on to our challenge at Crafty Catz this week. Our theme has been set by the lovely Jac who wants to see Stitching - Real or Fake. We are sponsored this week by the lovely team at Bugaboo who are offering our winner 7 images of their choice

It seems kind of fitting that I was a rebel this week and my offering isn't a papercraft card at all, but rather a fully stitched religious card.

I made this card for a friend's Priestly Ordination. Everything is cut from silk, stitched on a machine with hand embellishments to finish.

Whatever you get up to this Easter weekend I hope its filled with laughter and love. Have a great time!

Until next time, happy crafting

Easter Cards

Evening all

It's been a while since a posted anything that wasn't a DT card so I thought I'd share this years Easter card design.

The central egg design is my own. I sketched a design, cut it out to create a template then drew it onto black card. I then layered the image onto green paper for grass and cut off the excess. I then created the rays by cutting down a rectangle and glue them in place before cutting off the excess, I then backed the piece in blue and cut around the shape again.

I kept the background simple, the white card is embossed with sizzix flourish and swirls and the ribbons and gems are from stash. I mounted the egg on foam squares to add dimension and there we go.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Simply Papercraft - Anything Goes
Cards and More - Use Ribbon
Crafty Sentiments - Any Shape

Crafty Catz DT - Baby

Morning all

Here's to the end of another week. I'm off work today and off to the NEC to do some shopping, whilst mum tries her hand at the cake international sugar craft competitions.

It's my turn to pick a theme this week and I say lets celebrate new life and Babies. Our sponsor this week is Di's Digi Stamps and they're offering our winner a $12 voucher.

My image this week is called Baby Bear Scales
The images is coloured with promarkers in Satin, Cool Grey 2, Sandstone, Caramel, Honeycomb, Terracotta, Dusky Rose, Lime Green, Apple, Gold, Mustard, China Blue and Cool Aqua. The papers are from a really old pack by docrafts called spring time and the edges dusted with Versamagic, Thatched Staw and Sea Breeze

The sentiment is computer generated and hand cut. The design is finished with buttons, ribbon and pearls from stash

So there we go. Hope you like the card and the theme. Until next time, happy crafting

Crafty Catz DT - Ribbon and Bling

Morning all

What a busy week!  honestly the days speed by and other than exhaustion dragging at my bones I don't know where the days go and what I've achieved. Is anyone else feeling zombie like at the moment?

Oh well! crafting time might be somewhat limited at the moment but at least the gorgeous images from our sponsors are keeping me inspired. Our theme this week has been set by the lovely Christine and she wants to see Ribbon and Bling. We have a fabulous sponsor this week in Time for Tea digi's

The image is coloured with promarkers;  Blush, Honeycomb, Spice, Terracotta, Gold, China Blue and Cool Aqua the paper is scrap from previous projects. The clocks are cut from an embossed cardstock that I was sent and the ribbon, gems and doily are all from stock.

So that's my card this week. I hope you come and join us over at Crafty Catz this week but until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Three Different Papers

Morning all

Here's to the end of another week. Sorry for my absence last week - I got confused as to which challenge I was on. Total failure on my behalf so sorry. But onwards with this weeks challenge which has been set by the lovely Dianne. Her theme for the week is Three Different Papers and our sponsors this week are Melonheadz  who are offering our lucky winner 1 Bundle of Choice from the Shop

I love challenges like this as it means I can use up scraps of paper - so that's what I've done. The images were coloured with promarkers in Dusty Pink, Pastel Pink, Satin, Dusky Rose, Honeycomb, Cinnamon, Caramel, Terracotta, Spice, Sandstone, Cool Aqua, China Blue, Apple, Lime Green, Buttercup, Canary, Gold, Amethyst and Aubergine

I hope you like it and don't forget to swing by the blog to see what the others have made. Until next time, happy crafting
