Crafty Catz DT - The colour purple

Good morning all,
Have you had a nice week? Are you ready for a new challenge at Crafty Catz? This weeks challenge has been set by Beth, who is challenging you to make a card using the colour purple - my favourite colour! Yay!

We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Crafty Ribbons, and once more I am jealous I can't win this fabulous prize:
Onwards with my card then:
I used my favourite corner stamp, Sweetpea by U mount and decoupaged some of the buds etc. The sentiment is from the same pack and the papers are do-craft basics. I used promarkers in the following colours; pear green, moss, aubergine, amethyst and dusky rose

Simple but, I think, effective. Hope you like it! until next time, happy crafting x

Crafty Catz DT - This ones for the boys

Good Morning, it's Friday so it's Crunchie time! oooh and it's also time for another Crafty Catz challenge too.  This week's theme is 'One for the boys' - my choice!

So I, like most crafters I know, hate making male cards - but, with more men then women in my family, it is a challenge I have to deal with more than I care to, so for entirely selfish reasons, I thought that if I must suffer, then at least you can all lend me some inspiration! hehe :)

This week we are sponsored by Yours or Mine Paper Crafts, who are giving our lucky winner a $10 voucher to spend in their store:

So, without further ado, my card this week (for my brother's birthday at the start of June - see, forward planning.....)
I coloured this fabulous image from Paper Shelter, called Cockatoo Rules, with my promarkers in the following colours; cool grey 1,2 and 3, pear green, moss, black, slate, mustard, canary, gold, eggnog, buttercup, saffron, spice, apricot, red and ruby.

I mounted the image on an oval cut with my nestie dies, embossed with spots and dots cuttlebug folder and mounted onto paper from SU pattern pack III. The green and grey pattern paper are from the same pack, whilst the main designer paper is Craft Creations - Christmas scrolls cream.

The card is finished with ritz candy pips.

I'm not sure if the photo's portray it very well but the front of the card is cut in half and the image and papers mounted half on, half off. Just to try and give the card a bit of a twist.

So there we have it. I hope you like it and do drop by the other girls blogs for more inspiration. Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Sketch Time

Good Morning!

Well its the end of another working week and frankly - boy am I glad! After a week and a half of being basically the only person on a site which normally has over 150 individuals kicking around, I can tell you that a) I am totally sick of my own voice and b) portraits give you better conversation than you'd image......

Anyway, on to today's helping of Crafty Catz funness. This weeks challenge has been set by the lovely Aunty Sue who has designed a sketch for us all to follow:
We have two sponsors this week - Paper Shelter and Marianne Designs.

and
So onto this weeks card:
Isn't this little fellow just the cutest? so sweet and a gem to colour! I used my beloved promarkers in ivory, slate, pastel blue, pear green and sandstone. I highlighted with Inkssentials opaque pen white and used classic K Margo Teal Gossamer Floral Flat Paper, Sew pretty designer papers and pre printed sentiment and ribbon and pips from stash to finish.

Hope you like it and hope you're inspired to join in this week.

Until next time, happy crafting!

The pen is mightier than the sword....oh wait, it's a pencil

Evening all,

Just a flying visit to share a quick card with you. I had designed it for an upcoming challenge at Crafty Catz, but then decided to go with something entirely different so you get to see it sooner rather than later - aren't you the lucky ones?

It's a crazy, somewhat psychedelic card, but it made me smile to make it and it used up an image I haven't dug out the bottom of the box in forever!
So its obviously a Magnolia stamp, coloured with promarkers in the following colours; ivory, apricot, sandstone, slate, burnt orange, china blue, pear green and red. The base paper is Rainbow Retro from provo craft, whilst the 3 stars are made from Blink Of An Eye 6x6 papers. Pips from stash.

Nothing complex but a I kinda like it - totally waked out, which is how I feel at the moment. I would like to enter it into the following challenges; Passion for Promarkers - Cut out your images and Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

That's it for now, I'll see you again soon but until then, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes

Morning all, its the end of the week again and so it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week Janette has set our challenge and she settled on Anything Goes - so, nice and simple this week, share whatever it is that you've been working on with us! We are sponsored this week by Crimson Cloud who are offering our lucky winner 3 packs of diecuts.
So this week I'm sharing with you favour boxes. Those of you who have been following me for a while may vaguely recall that for the last few years, Mum and I cater the Church's annual wedding preparation day. We always set the lunch up as a mock wedding breakfast, with favour boxes, centre pieces and a wedding cake. This year I decided that the favour boxes were going to be strawberries after finding a pattern on Pinterest and these are the final pieces.
They were really easy to make, the most complex bit was threading them so they sat snuggly when tied up, but after a few goes I managed to master the technic and it was all speed ahead.

After last year's favours, which took hours to make, these were a joy to make!

So there we have it, until next time, thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Happy Easter

Afternoon all,

Just a quick one today, to share an Easter card with you. Hopefully, this has reached its intended recipient by now.
I used one of Bugaboo's gorgeous digi images and layered it slightly. Double mounted on ovals and I hand cut the backing paper. MS butterfly punch and a pearl to finish.

So there we have it. I would like to enter this into Creative Inspirations Challenge this week.

Until next time, happy crafting!
