Crafty Catz DT - Fairytales and Nursery Rhymes

Morning all,

 

How are we all today? it's Friday and that means it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks theme has been set by the lovely Nick who challenged us to make a card inspired by a Fairy tale or Nursery Rhyme.

 

We are lucky to be sponsored this week by Bugaboo Digi Stamps who are very kindly offering our lucky winner 7 images of their choice.

We were also very lucky to be given an image to play with for this challenge and I decided I wanted to play with Princess Charlie in a Tower as I instantly started to recall that classic Fairy tale of Rapunzel. There's only one problem with Fairy tales,  I always get a bit sick and tired of the women being so helpless! not that I'm a feminist, because I'm not, but I always thought the men got to have more fun and I was one of those kids that wanted to be off chasing dragons not sitting learning how to sew!

 

Anyway, enough of my rambling and on with this week's project:

For this week's project I thought I would finally try my hand at making a drawer card. I have to say it took me longer to make the drawer than the make the rest of the card all together!

 

Anyway, I coloured the lovely Charlie with the following promakers: Ivory, blush, satin, dusky rose, gold, pastel yellow, mustard, poppy, honeycomb, sky blue, sandstone, caramel, cinnamon

 

The papers are from Stampin Up and I hand drew and cut the inset papers. I hand drew and cut the clouds as well and the flowers are from woodware two sizes of woodware punches. The ribbon and brad are from stash, the card is edged with stickles stardust and cream gems to finish.

Crafty Catz DT - Fancy Folds

Good Morning!

 

Another Friday, another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks fabulous challenge has been set by Jac who challenged us to make a card with some fancy folds.

Alota very kindly gave us some digi's to play with, although I decided to use this little sweetie from last time they sponsored us, as I just love her. 

So I decided to make a tri-fold shutter card. The papers are from so long ago I couldn't tell you who made them, sorry. I used the following promarker colours; dusky rose, lime zest, gold, pear green, burnt orange, pastel pink, moss, poppy, ivory and blush.

I finished the design off with some flowers - double size of woodware punches, leaves from cuttlebug kids die range and gems to finish.

Evening all,

Just a quick card to share with you this evening. I needed to make a card for one of the student's at the college who very kindly invited me to his ordination to the priesthood - only one problem, it's at the exact same time as my vicar's leaving service!

So I had to make a card to send my apologies and it needed to be masculine and somewhat religious - oh the nightmare!

In the end I found a really lovely stained glass window image of a dove, which I then printed direct to cardstock, then layered up twice. I added an embossed edge just to frame it and there we go.

Thankfully, the card was greatly appreciated when I handed it over this morning!

I would like to enter this card into Allsorts Challenge - True Blue (hope there is enough blue to qualify) and Dream Valley - Animals

Crafty Catz DT - 3,2,1

Good morning lovely people,

 

Here's to the end of another week! and what a crazy week this one has been - and still more to come! I think Sunday may require me to lie down in a darkened room to recover, well at least to catch up on some missing shut eye!!

 

Anyway, enough of my rambling and onto this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz. This weeks theme is 3-2-1. Nice and simple, 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 something....your choice as to what those may be. We are sponsored again by the lovely Crimson Cloud who are offering our lucky winner 3 packs of diecuts.



So without further ado, here's my card:

I used one of the many fab Saturated Canary images I own and coloured her with my trusty promarkers. Cut the image out with offset curved corners and added faux stitching. The sentiment is a really old wooden block one (can't remember the maker sorry) which I cut, added a black border too and mounted. The backing papers are from Sew Pretty Papers and Emma's Garden Paper pad. Edged all with black pen, foam mounted the sentiment and added 3 buttons from stash.

 

There we have it 3 Buttons, 2 main colours and 1 image. My take on 3-2-1.

Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes

Another week has come and gone and another Friday is upon us. So here's to the new challenge at Crafty Catz. This week's theme has been set by Sassy who is feeling generous and has said 'Anything Goes'.

 

We are sponsored this week by Kenny K Digital images and they are offering one lucky winner 5 digi images of their choice - ooooh you lucky things! Although I can't complain as we do get many of these fab images to play with.

 

My project this week is a door hanger for a feisty girl:

I used the fabulous LilPirate digi from Kenny K and coloured her with promarkers. I picked up a trio of tags at the Hobbycraft show in March for the bargain price of a £1 and it is the largest of the three that I have used here.

The decoupaged map paper is from an old craft calendar that was a freebie (from last year), which I glued onto the front and back. I then hand drew and cut some hinges from white card, which I then embossed with some really old docraft's bronze embossing powder. I then embossed the very edges of the tag with the same powder to give it an aged look.

I printed and hand cut the sentiment, distressed over the top with Tim Holtz faded jeans and layered it all on to mottled ivory circles. I finished the hinges with brown pips, added some red pearl gems and in a stroke of luck found a free pirate treasure printable to finish the reverse. Thread through some bronze organza ribbon and there we have it.

Is anyone actually out there? I only ask because my little part of the web has felt very quiet of late. Please do say hi if you pop by, I do so love to hear from you all. I know I've been terrible of late in catching up with you all but it's been a manic month - hopefully I can be a better blogger again soon.

Anyway, on with today's post - it's Friday so that means a new challenge at Crafty Catz. This week's theme has been set by Nina, who would like to see you make a card inspired by a song - make sure you tell us which song on your post!

So on with my card, using LOTV stamp Karate Kid and inspired by 'Everybody was Kung-fu fighting' by Carl Douglas I have created this:

I coloured the image using promarkers in the following colours: Ivory, Blush, Cool Grey 2, Ruby, Burgundy, Terracotta and Burnt Orange. The paper is from Do-crafts Wellington Paper Pack; the ribbon and pips are from stash; sentiment computer generated and the film strip is a freebie from here

I hand cut the polaroid frame from card and layered it all up, it wasn't that hard once I'd worked out the inside space for the image.
