Glow Balloons, Glow!

Ok, so I know i've been kinda doing crafting in fits and starts recently, but I blame it on the rich and varied cultural entertainment Bristol has to offer - for free!

Seriously, my free time seems to have been taken up of late going to festivals and fiestas! at the end of July Bristol put on a weekend of free entertainment known as the Harbourside Festival. It had everything from an international food fair, circus acts, live music, dance stage, dance lessons and a whole lot in-between. Infact there was so much to do that even after 2 days I barely scraped the suface of what that festival had to offer!

And right off the back of that? well it's Bristol Balloon Fiesta! a four day extravaganza dedicated to hot air balloons. Throw in a craft village, a fair-ground and some music in a stunning park and no wonder I'm not getting any crafting done! (or much sleeping for that matter.....). So last night one of my work colleagues, her housemates and myself went to see the night glow at the festival. It's an event where they play a range of well known songs and light up the balloons in sync to the music. It was great!

So instead of sharing a card with you today (I promise there will be some on the way soon) I thought i'd share some photos from last night.

Bye Bye Baby, Goodbye!

Well yet another of the ladies in the team i'm part of is pending maternity leave [that makes 3 of them in 9 months!!] lol!  anyway, I offered to make a good luck/goodbye card - but as she has no idea what they're about to have I wanted to keep it neautral.

I found this a really hard card to make - it's not goodbye as such as she'll be back in 9 months, it's not so much a congratulations card either (I suspect that's another card i'll end up making) so what do you do? Well after much wrestling with ideas, this is what i've come up with:

The images are all coloured with pro-markers, the sentiment is created by me and printed off the computer. Papers and ribbons are all from stash.

I'm getting married in the morning...... ummm actually.....

Good morning all!

I've been busy making a second wedding card this week, for a work friend who gets married 3 weeks today!  Yay!

I'd like to enter this card for two challenges, firstly; Simon Says who told us to Sing it Baby! well that's not very difficult as my colleague keeps walking through the office whistling 'I'm getting married in the morning' {pointing out she still has a few weeks before that's true has recieved glares which has shut even the most hardend staff member right up lol!} and secondly I'd like to enter this into Cute Card Thursday's Challenge which is Whateva!

Ok, so once again i've used the LOTV stamp (Love this sooooooooooo much!) and coloured it with promarkers, i've then double mounted it onto dark metalic purple card and then again onto brushed bronze before the main card itself. The flowers (if you don't recognise them by now) are from my 2 trusty punches - Woodware for the smallest and Tesco's for the larger. Gems are from stash.

Mojo Monday Challenge - Mojo150

And given my recent avoidence of any card which isn't square I thought it was a good chance to re-introduce myself to some of my other cardstock.

Everything is from my scraps box, except the pips and the butterfly - which is one my mum had sent me as it's her stamp :o( [I really need to get my own one!] The edge is from my Martha Stewart punch.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge - Sketch & Golden Oldie

So the challenge this week over at Truly Scumptious this week was this stunning sketch

and the additional challenge (if you chose to accept it) of using a forgotten stamp. Well i'm not sure forgotten is quite correct for this stamp but neglected is probably true:

Everything is from stash - image is coloured by promarkers and whisper pens. Oval is from some nesties a friend of mine sent me and everything else is hand cut.

Loving this stamp!

I love this stamp! its just so elegant! yes I know I've basically done this card twice before but I just love this stamp and I needed an elegant birthday card for today fast (I found out monday night). So here we go again:

Coloured the image with pro-markers this time and the sentiment is hand written with a silver pen. Paper's and ribbon from stash.
