Allsorts Challenge - Plain and Simple

Morning Fellow Crafters!

Well, I'm back in the land of card making - sort of - I've done 3 challenge cards and I can't really decide if I like any of them at all. I'm running low on mojo - along with everything else. Is anyone else like this? the weathers changed and i'm feeling tired all the time, not quite ill but seem to have a sniffle and bad throat? ummm, well not long til my holidays in the sun (hopefully) so maybe all I need is a good dose of Vitamin D to get me back on track.....

Rant over and here is the first of my 3 cards - this is for Allsort's who wanted Plain and Simple this week:

I printed the senitment on the computer - it reads ' You have to put up with a little rain to see a rainbow' the image is coloured using with pro markers, double mounted - the boarder card was kindly sent to me and I believe was cut with a Martha Stewart punch (but don't quote me) and the ribbon is from stash.

That's everything. I'll be back later with another card. Many thanks for looking and happy crafting

Get Well Soon Card

Hi guys, just a quick post - not feeling very human today. Just wanted to share this card I ran up quickly on Monday night for a dear friend of mine who isn't very well. I wanted to keep it simple and use my new Magnolia stamp.
The image is pieced, paper is the oriental collection from Dovecraft, ribbon and flowers from stash.

I'm going to enter this into Crafty Cardmakers Challenge this week - which is Around the World

Thanks for looking and happy crafting x

Wedding Card for the Boss!

Arrrgh! why do I agree to doing stupid things like making the team wedding card for my boss! Seriously?! I'm nuts - what if she hates it?! what if the team hate it but are too polite to say anything?!?!

Urgh! *Head*Hits*Desk*

Well minor panic aside this is what i've come up with:
Embossing done with my bug, sentiment printed on the computer - hearts hand cut and mounted. Card all from stock as are the ribbons and the gems.

What do you think? Simple and elegant or plain and boring? :S

Comments welcomed and thanks for looking!

Chick, chick, chick, chick, Chicken....... lay a little egg for me

Hey everyone! I'm a bad blogger I know, two weeks without a peep from me. Sorry!

So lets see what's been happening:- last Thursday (that was the 9th) I was at one of English Heritage's properties - Kenilworth Castle. Stunning place - fabulous history! it was the home of Robert Dudley and was were Elizabeth supposedly went to when she need to escape court and be with her favourite for some love! hehe, anyway - here are some of my pics.......
After that I spent the weekend at home doing not an awful lot and came back to work to have to re-apply for my job *head*hits*desk* - best not to ask about it, surfice to say the HR department screwed up my contract and now I have to reapply for my own role and may have to reinterview as well against others from within English Heritage - Arrrrgggghhh! Anyhoo...............

So that leads me to the last week where I've been busy doing cross stitch for my mum - this week: Chickens!  for egg cup covers... if I remember, I'll get you photo's of the finished things from mum, but until then:
Hope all are well, should have some cards to upload soon.

Take care and Happy Crafting! xx

Updates on life

I just wanted to update you all on things, given the many lovely and concerned messages i've recieved. In answer  to many of you asking - no, I don't now have crutches, apparently it's not bad enough to warrent them, hmm.... personal opinion there me thinks.

Did I go home? nope - I have a planned long weekend coming up on friday and after a discussion with my parents I decided to battle through and keep to the original schedule.

Will work let me have the time off - yes, if I want it. The problem is i'd go barmy doing nothing - a weekend with nothing to do drives me insane!  and before you all clamour on about all the cards I could make, i'd simply loose my mojo and not make any.

Are they any better? the originally damaged foot, yes. The newly damaged foot, no. Time will heal all..... I just hope its in plenty of time for my holiday next month! I refuse to wear flats with my evening dresses! lol!

So that's just about everything. I'll be fine, normally am. I hope all is well with the rest of you!

Take care of yourselves and happy crafting

OUCH!!! need a rant.....

So for those of you who follow my blog pretty well know I recently did some serious damage to my right foot - well, you'll never guess what?!  yup! because the hospital refused to give me crutches, it's not healing as quickly as they'd like and i've also put so much strain on my left foot, that it too is now very tender and swollen - so all in all i'm not a happy bunny!

I'm currently sat with both feet in ice water, dosed up on painkillers and ready to pack it all in, skive off work and get my parents to come and fetch me for some serious TLC. To top it all off, I still have no idea what's going on with my current job contract and i'm having no luck searching for a new one! all I can say is bring on my holiday, I need a break and some sun before I get totally depressed with things!

Sorry, needed a rant...... anyway! thanks for all the lovely comments you've all left of late - off to do some blog hoping to leave comments and then onwards with another job application :0(

Oh the joys

Take care of yourselves
