Crafty Catz DT - This one's for the Boys

Good Morning one and all,

 

Another week is almost over and boy am I exhausted - time for a lie in I think (still unlikely to happen) I've had a manic week and I've got so much to share and no time to write, so bear with me and I promise to share some of my latest projects.

 

Anyway, on with this week's Crafty Catz challenge and this weeks theme has been set by the lovely Kim who would like you all to make a card for a man or boy. We have two great sponsors this week; Mei Flowers and Digital Delights

My card this week is for my young cousin.

I used the fabulous Tiddly Ink digi stamp set, for the birds and coloured them with promarkers in the following shades: china blue, sky blue, ruby, poppy, honeycomb, apricot, buttercup, pastel yellow, duck egg, cool aqua, lime green, meadow green and sandstone.

 

The image is layered onto papers from Docrafts Wellington paper pack and cardstock, all edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink - as is the card base itself and finished off with three small star buttons from stash.

Crafty Catz DT - Bookmarks

Good Morning Everyone,

Are we all happy? are we all glad it's almost the weekend? Do we all have an indulgent treat lined up to have with our afternoon cup of tea? yes?! great - where's mine?! lol! I'm on a real sugar kick at the moment, I'm trying so hard to avoid desserts and cakes and chocolate (which is really hard in my workplace I assure you!)

 

Anyway, enough of my rambling, on with this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz. This week's theme has been set by the lovely Jac, who would like to see you all make a bookmark this week to celebrate the opening of Britain's first library on the 6th September 1852. We are sponsored this week by Alota Stamps, who are kindly offering our lucky winner a gift voucher to spend in store.

So onwards with my project and this week I've forgone a paper project in order to spend some time with my beads.

I wish I could take credit for the design but it's not one of mine, rather it's by Spellbound Beads. Love their stuff and most of my beading projects come from them! I love the fact I can also take elements from all their kits and make other bits - like I know that mouse is going to get made and turned into a charm for a friends bracelet and I have another friend who is Owl made, so I'll probably make her this owl up as a key-ring or bag charm.

Crafty Catz DT - Ribbon Pleating

Good Morning Lovely Makers and Creators!

Good week? Glad it's the weekend? Whatever you get up to, don't forget to pop by Crafty Catz for our fab new challenge this week. Which has been set by Nick and the theme is 'Ribbon Pleating' and we are sponsored this week by Crafty Ribbons:

I love this fabulous sentiment - it makes me laugh so much. I embossed it with bronze powder and edged it with Sahara Sand. On the yellow card, I then pleated gold organza ribbon, I stacked this at an angel on top of green and then the whole thing on top of a panel of natural card. The whole base was edged in the same chalk ink.

Crafty Catz DT - Stitching and Fabric

Good Morning!

 

Has everyone had a good week? are you all ready and raring to go with a new challenge at Crafty Catz? after our mini break, we start back with a bang. Tilly has set this week's challenge and it's a challenge with an optional extra. All cards should containing stitching - real or faux and the optional extra is to make something/ use fabric on the card. Take up the additional challenge of fabric and you will be entered into both prize draws for both sponsors....But please remember to state what if any material has been used so we can make sure you've been fairly entered into the draws.  If you choose to leave out the option of material  and just cover the stitching  you will be entered into the  prize from our second sponsor.

Still with me? ok, then onwards with my card this week:

Using the fabulous tequila worm, coloured with promarkers, I layered him onto a piece of aida, stitched around the edge. I mounted him onto a background of hand cut honeycomb papers, all with faux stitching, which in turn is mounted onto a pre-printed card with that good old standby sentiment - one tequila, two tequila, three tequila.... floor? or should be that, oh go on - just one more?! the whole thing is double mounted onto coloured cardstock and then mounted onto a base card which is finished with faux stitching on the very edge.

Mousey Nice Birthday

Morning all,

 

Just a quick card to share with you all today. This one is for my future sister in law's birthday at the end of the month. She adores baking and these little fellows were just calling out to be used as they so often get neglected due to the amount of time they take to cut out! 

I've been trying to get used to using silicone glue for decoupaging and rolling the images so that its not so rigid in appearance. It's not perfect but its better than my last awful attempt. Anyway, I just kept it really simple and double mounted the image on coordinating card stock, I did the same for the sentiment and finished it all off with a dusted pink edge and some ribbon.

 

I would like to enter this into the Creative Inspirations Challenge this week - Something Old and Something New (old is the decoupage sheets, new is the ribbon and card stock)

Crafty Catz DT- Pastel Colours

Good morning lovely crafters,

 

It's Friday and that means it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Catz. I theme this week was chosen by the lovely Sassy, who we are sad to have to announce has left the DT for personal reasons. However! the theme was set, the cards made and we will celebrate this weeks challenge in honour of our friend - we hope to see you around blogland Sassy! Crafty Catz won't be the same without you!!

 

Our sponsor this week is Crimson Cloud who once again are offering our lucky winner three packs of die-cuts.

 

For my card this week I have used one of the fabulous bubble bloom stamps! love them!! I then stamped the image again onto a circle so that I could layer up the image. I paper pieced the leaves, mounted the circle onto foam pads and used a combination of pastel candy pips, gems and stickles to create the finished look - only downside to this is you have to double up the pips for the half cut outer circles on the design.

I finished the card by dusting the outer edge with pixie dust pink ink, adding a pale purple ribbon, three more gems and dots of stickles in white and crystal to finish the design.
