Crafty Catz DT - New Beginnings

Morning all,

Are we all ready for some New Beginnings? that's the theme set by Carol for this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz. Our sponsors this week are Crafty Ribbons who are offering our lucky winners a £10 Gift Voucher

Like many of my team-mates I chose to celebrate new life in my card this week. I have a good friend who's due in April so it's nice to get ahead on making the card.

I used the slightly smaller card in a box dimensions to make this card so that it will fit in a C6 envelope.

The base card is Core Cardstock in Vanilla Cream, the accent card is Core Cardstock in Buttercup, the edges dusted Versa Magic, Sahara. The back blue panel is just paper from the scraps box. The fence is a die cut I was kindly sent, the grass is hand cut from green scrap paper dusted with Distress Ink in Shabby Shutter.

I hand cut the little bibs and the washing line. The bunting is another die I was sent, coloured with Versa Magic inks Sea Breeze and Turquoise Gem

The green border at the base and the butterflies are both Martha Stewart punches.

I think that's about it. I hope you like it and don't forget to come and play along with us this week.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Polka Dots

Morning!

So who else went back to work on Monday?! who else is really glad it's the end of the week now? yep, thought so. Well, grab a cup of something and get ready for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz.
Our challenge this week has been set by Cindy who would like to see you use Polka Dots on your creations. We are sponsored this week by Inky Impressions who are offering a $10 Gift Voucher to our lucky winner

My card this week was inspired by the text digi we were given to play with:

The sentiment actually comes as one piece, I just cut it in half on the computer to create this card. The cloud shape was drawn by hand, the polka dot paper is from Autumn Creations, the coloured paper is from stash and I dusted the edge of the card with Distress Ink in Polished Pebble and faux stitched with black and white gel pens.

That's about it. I hope you're inspired to play along.

Until next time, happy crafting

Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2015 and the first challenge of the year from Crafty Catz. To help ease everyone back into the challenges we're starting with everyone's favourite - Anything Goes

Our sponsor this week is Fitztown who are offering our lucky winner 3 images of their choice

My card this week is actually my brother's birthday card. As his birthday is January 1st I always struggle to find inspiration to make his card - well, that and the fact I hate making men's birthday cards!

I cased a card I found on Pinterest (got to love that site for inspiration!) and came up with this

It's a great card to use up scraps I have to say. The sentiment and name are computer generated, the shape is hand cut and the blue thread is actually embroidery silk. I brushed the edge of the shape with versa magic ink in turquoise and mounted it on foam pads.

I hope you like it and don't forget to come and play with us at Crafty Catz this week.

Until next time Happy Crafting!

2014 Christmas Cards

Afternoon all,

Back with another card for you all. This is the design I did for this year's Christmas cards. I forgot to take a photo of them, but I was over at my brother and sister in laws yesterday so I kidnapped theirs to photograph it for the records, which also means I can share it!

It's a woodware stamp, which I have to say is not the easiest thing in the world to get a clean impression off most the time - patience was a definite requirement for this years cards. Stamped on hammered cardstock, mounted on pearlised green card and coloured with promarkers

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Christmas/New Year
Simon Says - Anything Goes (entry 2)
C.R.A.F.T challenge - Anything Goes (entry 2)

Until next time - happy crafting!

Playing with Paper Piecing - Happy Birthday

Morning one and all,

Is everyone feeling massively stuffed? over indulged on everything? sluggish? - just me then..... Moving swiftly on. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and have enjoyed your break - no matter how short or long - from work.

I have a couple of cards to share with you before we see out the year and the first is a Birthday Card for a male friend. I hate making men's cards with a passion but I love this Happy Birthday Stamp as it makes life so simple. It's also a great way of using up scrap papers.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges (wow it's been a long time since I managed to do that!):

Tuesday Morning Sketches - Anything Goes
Simon Says - Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T challenge - Anything Goes

Until later, happy crafting

Crafty Catz DT - Last Minute Christmas

Well here we are - at the last challenge over at Crafty Catz for the year and a fitting challenge it is too!  The theme was set by the lovely Jac and it's Last Minute Christmas.

We have two sponsors this week - Kenny K Designs and Make it Crafty
5 images of winners choice

$10 Gift Certificate

For my card this week I used the fabulous Winter Scene from Make it Crafty:
I printed the image twice on linen card and spliced it three ways so that the image was not only staggered up and down but layered up. I mounted each of the sections onto dark blue card and coloured the image with promarkers - I have to say that doing large areas of a single colour on linen cardstock is not fun - it just absorbs the ink!

The ribbon is from Wilko's Christmas gift-wrap range and the button is from stash. I finished the card with some stickles glitter all over the place and white pen to highlight the falling snow.

Hope you like it and don't forget to swing by and see the other girl's creations on the blog.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT- Christmas Card With A Snowman

Morning all,

Another week closer to Christmas and another week of the year gone....  this weeks challenge over at Crafty Catz is set by Christine and she want's you to make a Christmas Card with a Snowman. We are sponsored this week by the fab team at Bugaboo

7 images of winners choice

The image is coloured with promarkers, the fab saying was a printable I found on Pinterest and the papers are all really old freebie papers from magazines. The doily is from a do-craft collection and the gems are from my stash.

Nothing too complicated. I have to say for a non traditional card I quite enjoyed making it.

Hope you like it and don't forget to see the other fab inspirations on the Crafty Catz website. Until next time though, happy crafting.
