Crafty Catz DT - Christmas in July

Hello lovely people,

Well here's to the end of another week! wow! where has July gone? I hope you've all been enjoying the weather and you're not all struggling too much with the heat. Well, just in case you feel the need to cool down, this weeks challenge at Crafty Catz is perfect for you! Set by Nina, she would like to see you all make a Christmas card - so dig out those wintery images and cool down as you get frosty and festive. We are sponsored this week by the lovely team at Bugaboo who are offering our lucky winner 7 images of their choice
So, onwards with my card:
We were kindly given some images to play with and I settled on this lovely. I coloured him with promarkers in the following colours: icicle, polar blue, cool grey 1, slate, duck egg, caramel, poppy, moss and apricot.

I edged the base of the card with versa magic sea breeze ink and stickles stardust. I then cut a circle of acetate from stash using my Nellie Snellen dies and ran it through my sizzix snowflake embossing folder.

I freehand drew and cut the base for the snow globe - attached both the front and back between two layers of card, added a hinge to the top and finished the whole thing off with some ribbon and a button from stash.

So there you have it. I do hope you like it and don't forget to pop by the blog to see the rest of the girls fab creations.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Banners, Bunting and Pennants

Good Morning!

Well it's another Friday, which means another week of my life has vanished without me realising it! lol!  Never mind! Anyway, as it's that time of the week I best get on and tell you about our next fab challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week's challenge has been set by Beth, who would like you all to use Banners, Bunting or Pennants on your projects this week.

We are sponsored this week by Paper Shelter and Digital Delights who are offering our lucky winners:

So, onwards with my card this week:
We were given a choice of images to play with from Paper Shelter - and I settled on this sweetheart! isn't she sweet? Anyway, I coloured her with promarkers in Ivory, blush, saffron, gold, moss, ruby, spice, burnt orange, pastel blue and duck egg.

I settled on Kraft Cardstock for the base and mounted on a square of paper from Boho Chic 6x6 paper pad. I then cut a circle out of white cardstock to create a negative frame and dusted the outer and inner edge with Blush Rose colourbox chalk. I then mounted that onto the card with silicon adhesive and added the image to one side.

My bunting was hand made by cutting strips of paper from the same pad, folding them in half over some cotton thread and gluing them down, I then cut the points. Mounted up on the other side, using foam squares to support the middle three, I added a few buttons and gems just to finish the main design. I then decided to add a border with stickles stardust which I freehand drew - not too wonky!

So that's it for me! I do hope you like it and don't forget to pop by the blog to see the rest of the teams gorgeous cards! Until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Colour Swatch

Good Morning Everyone,

Well it's Friday and that means another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks challenge is set by me and is based on the following colour swatch:
Please make sure your cards are clearly influenced by these colours - you can pick one main colour from the swatch or mix and match all of them, the choice is yours.

We are sponsored this week by the lovely team at Pink Gem Designs who are offering our lucky winner 3 digi stamps of their own choice.
So without further ado, here's my card this week.
Relatively simple, as my wrist is still playing up from last week. I coloured this fab images with promarkers in the following colours; ivory, blush, pastel pink, blossom, sky blue, pastel blue, gold, canary and buttercup.

The papers are all from Beach Babe paper stack and the card is finished with an old sentiment stamp, stickles - cotton candy, paper flowers and pearls.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to join in the fun! Until next time though, happy crafting

All you need is love

Morning one and all,

Just a quick card to share with you all today. I've had the elements of this card ready to go for ages and I was really missing not being able to make a card due to my wrist, so I decided to layer this one up as it required so little effort.
The heart die is a new one Crafty Ann, and whilst not as big as I originally anticipated is still beautiful. I layered it up onto scraps of designer papers and added some of my trusty pre-punched MS butterflies and woodware flowers. I dusted the flowers with chalk in, added pearls and glittered up the butterflies with stickles - adding some around the edge of the base paper too. So there we have it.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe - Pink and White
Allsorts - Favourite things (stickles, butterfly and flower punch and pearls)

Until next time, Happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Child's Play

Good morning one and all.

So it's Friday and that means another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week's theme has been set by the lovely Aunty Sue and it is 'Childs Play'. We are sponsored this week by Redonkadoodles who are offering our one lucky winner 16000 reward points to claim in store, this is the equivalent of 2-4 digital products, depending what you want to buy!

Unfortunately, I don't have a card to show you this week as I have badly hurt my wrist (never argue with a statue - it will win!). Anyway, it just so happened that I bruised and bashed up my writing hand and despite best efforts to colour an image, it was just too painful. But there are plenty of inspirational cards from my team mates over on the blog, so hop over there to be inspired and I will be back soon with a new project.

Until next time though, happy crafting!

Bee's of Beads

Good morning lovely people of blogland,

Well, the sun is finally making an appearance and I'm just about fooled enough to think summer may be on its way! which is perfect, as it means I might be able to wear my latest beading project.
One of spellbound beads kits - they are actually intended as earrings, but I just had to make it into a pendant - they're just too cute! bzzzzz! :D I changed how they've been strung slightly from the original instructions, but other than that I've kept the design the same.

I love these little fellows. I'm in the process of making some more bee's to turn into stud earrings for my mum!

Whatever you're up to today, I do hope you get some sun and a chance to get out and enjoy it for a short while. Until next time though, happy crafting!
