Evening all,
I just wanted to share with you a little bit of the excitement I felt on Saturday when I was part of the wedding of an exceptionally dear friend of mine, Rachel, to her other half, Nick.
Way back at the beginning of the year I was thrilled to be asked to be a bridesmaid for Rachel, which I instantly said yes to and so began the trials and tribulations of the role..... oh wait, no it didn't! Rachel had to be the most laid back bride ever!
Rachel, Jenna and I had a fun day dress shopping in April and after that we had to worry little else until Saturday. Rachel left us to choose shoes and hairstyles - not minding if we didn't match at all, as long as we were comfortable. In the end the only differance was the hair slide (although they were close) and the fact that Jenna had the silver version to my black pair of the same shoes.
All in all, I think we had the easiest role of any bridesmaids in the history of weddings and I'm trilled to say the day went off without a hitch - minus my somewhat bruised and black thumb (a story for another time!)
Part of my wedding gift to them was a sampler I stiched. I hope they liked it, but as they hadn't opened it when I left Cardiff and they're now on honeymoon, I'll have to wait until they return to hear the verdict.
My mum and dad's wedding present to them was the wedding cake, which mum made to match Rachel's dress. I can't begin to tell you how stressed she was over it, but it was beautiful and the happy couple were delighted with it!
So the two of them are now in Sri Lanka for their honeymoon and I'm eagerly awaiting their return so I can see the photos, but until then, here's the sneak peak from the photographers!
Gary and Sue were great, a real pleasure to be photographed by (and considering I HATE having my picture taken, that's saying something). I hasten to add that the images remain the sole copywrite of garyandsuephotography and are here only as a small indication of how incredible they are at their jobs and how fabulous the whole day was.
I can't wait to see the rest!

Sounds like it was a great day, Naomi! The photos look fab too!
ReplyDeleteThat cake is so beautiful and so is your gift!
Hope your thumb is better now
