Crafty Catz DT Card - Anything but Square

Good Morning!

 

Do we all have that Friday feeling?! are we all looking forward to the weekend? I know I am - it means I can have a lie in lol!

 

But before then, we have another fabulous challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week's theme is set by the lovely Janette, who would like to see you make anything but a square card

So I thought for this weeks card I'd go a little bit wacky and  be inspired by my all time favourite beverage; tea!



I simple did a quick google search for a teacup template that I liked and then printed it out onto plain white cardstock. I lined the inside of the card with a pale pink patterned paper that I had left from a wedding scrapbook kit. I covered the front of the card with a cream card and then cute the main body of the cup from some really old 12x12 paper in pale purple with a fabulous flower pattern on it.

 

I created a half floret using the same pattern paper, but used the other side so that it stood out against it's background and finished the centre off with a candy pip. I printed the sentiment on the same cream card and then used a scrap of pink paper to lift it. I then dug out my box of pre cut shapes (from past projects) and added some MS punched butterflies and covered them in stickles.

 

I then edged the handle and base with a thin green pen and added some flowers from stash (from all my white on white projects) which are punched using woodware punches and then embossed using the cuttlebug flourish folder. I dusted them lightly with pastel pink chalk in and finished them off with some leaves from the same stash, previously cut using cuttlekids dies and added pearls to their centres.

 

So there we have it, my anything but square card :)
